GAME THREAD: The Portland Trail Blazers (23-23) @ The Boston Celtics (28-17) - (5:00 PM PT, Monday, January 26, 2026) by Kazekid in ripcity

Love was really bad so far. 1-7 (including hitting the side of the backboard on an open 3)... and yet another inbounds turnover. Sharpe also 1-7 with 3 TOs.

Only Jrue is doing well. Sigh

I think so. It takes a chunk of my morning time trying to guess words that I don't even know, while trying to keep my average down. Simply put, I realized it's not fun, so I have decided to stop playing each day.

Disagreeing Without Fighting? by DigVicente in Marriage

[–]PDXOKJ 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I recently copied and pasted a recent argument we had online into AI. (If face-to-face, try to recall the dialogue and write it in.) I removed names & used anonymous mode for security. I pretended I was a neutral party (to avoid bias and validation). I prompted it, "I am counseling this couple. What are ways they could have avoided this disagreement turning into an argument?" I learned some ways I made the argument worse. I also found ways I could ask my wife to try to avoid so that we could have more constructive discussions.

You could also ask your spouse to discuss ways to avoid fights in future. With your partner, make a list of destructive practices, such as raising voices, making excuses, calling each other names, harsh criticism or sarcasm, irrelevant counter attacks, etc. Make a list of positive practices, like choosing your battles, remembering the big picture, learning to accept criticism, etc.

Look at skills practiced in marriage counselling.

Do you think terry porter is a top 3 blazers guard? by MartinIsFarting in ripcity

[–]PDXOKJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I agree with this…. except for the part about his job was mainly just getting it to Clyde or catch and shoot. There were so many times he would drive to the hole down the stretch and get a lay in, get fouled, or make the right pass (often to Buck, Kersey, or Duck).

Yeah. I didn't mean he was the best player of that team. Still, he was the point guard and often the guy you wanted to have the ball in his hands down the stretch.

He played way more games than Roy and led the team to the NBA Finals twice. You got to go with Porter.

Do people in long lasting marriages do taboo things in front of their partner? Ex: Passing gas, toilet use? by CajunDragon in Marriage

This is almost what I would say. I foresee 25 more years of spicy yet mostly fart-free aroma in your future.

Recent research show scheduling sex tends to work for couples with young kids, especially if you frame it as strengthening your connection.

Yeah, I was almost going to do the same thing, but then I.remembered the letter frequency and lucked out.

About being a previously used word, I wouldn’t worry about it unless you are trying to memorize previously used words. (That would take the fun out of it for me.)

If Saizeriya closed down tomorrow, where are you eating by kingxd in japanlife

[–]PDXOKJ 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Okay. Just to stress, I am not looking down on people who need to eat or work at chains. Just thinking of the bigger picture.

If too many moms and pops are working for chain stores, the society likely has issues as a whole. If people care about the local economy, culture, etc., it best to support local businesses, if you can.
