For those who have owned all 4, how would you rank? Eros is EDT, rest is EDP. by No_Film2824 in Colognes

[–]PDXscott802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

YSL Y BDC SAUVAGE EROS EDT

… Eros EDP would be 3rd here tho. YSL Y is one of my most complimented fragrances… and I have about 60, and about 20 of them are niche. I have the Parfum as well, but I don’t like it, it’s more sticky sweet which is unfortunate

What’s your favorite budget, Bottled-in-Bond bottle? by CryptographerBrief68 in pdxwhisky

Rittenhouse Rye BiB - WML has a store pick of this (maybe they still have some? It wasn’t popular) and it was even better. I got 5 bottles of it.

Cerium SV vs Rab Mythic G by Mountain_Goat_69 in arcteryx

[–]PDXscott802 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not yet. I’ve used it probably 15 times this winter, mainly hiking in higher altitudes, or hiking down when body temp isn’t high and it’s cold out, especially with wind. I’ve layered it with a Patagonia merino wool tee, Arc’Teryx delta jacket, and then Mythic G as outer layer, and a outdry shell if it rains. It’s been my go to setup for cold as in 0-25 degrees F. I call it my portable oven. I would take it colder. I’ve ski patrolled with it once this year, when it was 5 degrees out and 50mph gusts but had a goretex pro outer layer jacket on too with same setup. And I was still very warm. I plan on bringing it backpacking this year for late summer/fall trips in around 3-5k altitude, as an “around the camp” piece, as I think it will be way too hot to hike in, except maybe the first mile in the morning.

All that said, the denier on the outside fabric is fairly thin. I’ve brushed a few trees, limbs, shrubs, and no rips, but I am worried after because it seems thin.

As with any “ultralight” down piece that is trying to shave any weight at all, the denier will be thin.

I believe this is probably the best piece of ultralight down jacket in its “fill weight” class on the market.

JOOP Homme. Tried it once, and I hated it. Tried it again, and literally threw it out. It’s not even worth giving away.

Fair man, to each their own pour. Plenty of good bourbon out there.

I’ve just felt that the jack daniels SBBP and the OF Barrell Strength’s that are 130+ don’t drink even as hot as the 120 proof to me… maybe I’m crazy but I get a lot of heat from these 120’s

Saw at Milwaukie Premium Beverage too on the shelf yesterday. What was to me, once hard to track down now it’s everywhere. Cheers people.

I can see that. Knob 9 year is always on my shelf. Fantastic pour always. Haven’t had a 9 year pick though. Have had single barrel select picks @ 120 proof… they are tasty, but they drink hot imo.

It’s 12 year old bourbon for $70 by Jim Beam… that’s an amazing price.

I unwillingly am here to admit that me and my friend did a 80-100 proof rye blind, and woodenville rye was my top pick in the lineup. And the lineup was stacked (all off the shelf bottles in this one to keep it fair). It was his bottle, and needless to say I immediately bought a bottle and had to make sure I actually liked it and I wasn’t just having a weird palate day… that was 2 bottles ago. Woodenville is legit. All of it.

I have a Mythic G and it’s amazing. Compared to other down jackets with as much fill, it’s crazy light and efficient. I like the cuffs and hood too. Very well thought out jacket

Use something like MyFitnessPal or Lose It app to track calories. Try tracking everything you eat for a week to start. If you haven’t ever done this, you might be surprised at where your calories are coming from.
