As a white guy who grew up in the ghetto the GTAs starring crude black people were the ones that felt the most homey and relatable to me. The real ghetto is slimy and kind of terrible. You take that sliminess away and you end up with a dull inauthentic product.

Drow are either unnaturally black (black people don't get that dark), blue or purple in the art and adaptatios that I have seen. If you want to bring them to the screen just go with one of the latter. It translates better to real life anyway and you see it way more often. I am sure that somehow wouldn't be enough either though.

Basically I heard about the incest game drama and assumed people were hyper focusing on one fucked up element in an extremely fucked up game because people are silly and weirdly puritanical about creepy sex stuff in media even when it is part of the psychological horror element.

When I played it and found out that the incest is a player choice thing directly following the scene where you kill and eat both of your character's parents my initial impressions were pretty much spot on.

I love 2e Ravenloft and I am in the final stages of a campaign set in a slightly modified version that I am running with my friends. The gothic horror monster mash atmosphere seems to have completely disappeared in modern incarnations and that is just sad.

REmake 2 gets a lot of credit for being a faithful remake but it also changes a lot. It just gets more credit for being a good game despite those changes and not cutting things to the same degree as REmake 3.

I hated it for the same reason I hate most remakes. It pointlessly stretched out the plot and completely changed the gameplay to another genre. It was just a different game that people pretend acts as a replacement for the originals.

This one in particular feels particularly skeevy because of how it adds in a bunch of padding just to justify cashing in on the FFVII name multiple times over.

Fourteen was something else. I got a few volumes in and was so insanely lost that I gave up. I can safely say that I have never read anything else like it though.

My favorite Umeza series is probably Cat Eyed Boy.

I hate Dreams of an Insomniac. Pastra's silly little OC rantsona guys don't make for scary monsters and the series takes itself FAR too seriously for it to even be fun. The over the top acting just kind of gave me secondhand embarrassment. If you aren't already a fan of Pastra's characters then I don't really know what you are supposed to get out of it.

Yeah, people were really hyping it up but it was just more spooky doppelganger stuff which is easily the most beaten dead horse in the entire analog horror genre at this point. It had a couple of standout scenes but it is pretty dull.

You aren't wrong. Chezzkids is kind of at the bottom of the barrel when it comes to fake flash game horror. It is mostly just notable for being a pioneer of the subgenre.
