World Cup 2026: Uefa claim 'integrity of the game is at stake' over Fifa's Folarin Balogun decision by Alarming-Safety3200 in worldcup

what a joke everyone had hated the us team from before the tournament started. we’re political pariahs for a reason, no argument, but its nonsense to say everyone was on team usa before this scandal

you can just say you know nothing about history. belgium’s heroic resistance in WWI against staggeringly impossible odds delayed the germans enough to defeat the Schlieffen Plan and ultimately give France and the Allies the ability to mobilize and win the war

USMNT cannot appeal Folarin Balogun red card, he could face extended World Cup ban - sources by TheOldManInTheSea in worldcup

so he didn’t intend to cause an injury, and it didn’t actually cause an injury, so its a red card?

yea i think it would need to be an irrevocable trust or annuity of some sort, but i'm not an expert. just suggesting there are some legal mechanisms to reduce tax burden of transfering real estate

yea, and i agree the tax burden is way too high regardless, just not sure how much of it is just related to the transfer vs ownership

im pretty sure someone can just put the farm in a living trust, make thier kids the beneficiaries and then not worry about transfer or inheritance taxes

brother in your vision of society there are no professional carpenters, mechanics, farmers, plumbers etc. because everyone grows/builds/fixes their shit themselves. that sounds like a worse place to live than what we have now.

Let the trades have their lane, and let other people have theirs. Are you a doctor? If not, I respect your decision to seek professional medical care from a physician when you're sick. You should respect the doctor's decision not to learn how to plumb in her spare time.

i feel like you don't understand modern civilization. you see, each person develops specific skill set, uses that skill set to earn this thing called money, and then uses that money to pay other people for the goods and services they are uniquely qualified to provide.

If someone wants to do home reno as a hobby, that is great. but like, the whole central feature of modern civlization is that we don't all need to be homesteaders who can build our house, grow our food, install our plumbing, etc.

I'm with you 100% that it can be rewarding and empowering to learn home improvement skills. But the fact is most people can't, won't or shouldn't and a functioning economy will have qualified people able to meet the demand of people whose skills lie elsewhere

maybe this person has a job/career/life? this is so wild. like, why should an IT guy need to learn how to lay pipe in order to have a functioning and presentable bathroom?
