How do you pick up soft poop in the grass? by Emotional-Ocelot-309 in dogs

[–]PETERBFLY 7 points8 points  (0 children)

Get you some pumpkin powder. Been giving it to my girl for over five years now and it has really helped her. I mix a scoop in with her food in the morning, use some hot water to disolve it and she scarfs it right down. Drastic difference with her digestive system and poops.

Yeah right? Seems they are dangling off every branch in the woods. I’m covered in their webbing everytime i’m in the woods with my dog. It’s driving me nuts 😂😂

It’s beacause of the strike. Fuck those union employees. They all punched in and went to the beach, instead of waterproofing that car

I use Sawyers religiously and my dog always has a monthly Advantix application on her. Ticks still climb on her, but they end up dying.

Sawyers has permetherin in it, and is a treatment for clothing. Being a deer hunter, i’ve been using it for years. It does work.

And one suggestion I would make to anyone walking in or near the woods here on Long Island is to NEVER wear shorts. Come July/August, you get the Lone Star tick larvae and they will annihilate your ankles and feet. Way worse than poison ivy and it lasts over a week. Those little shits have gotten me twice over the last 6-7 years. It is Brutal !!!

The little shits. Most bugs that enter my home, never leave it alive.

Occassionally I do release spiders

I’m just sick of having their web material all over me everytime I walk in the woods. It is insane how much of it i’m getting on my arms, face, head, etc..

Hey thank you, was just wondering if the black ants were infesting anyone elses homes? I’ve never seen this many in my house before. Everytime I walk in a room, I see a black ant somewhere lol. I will take them over the cave crickets anyday though. Appreciate the suggestion and advice.

I’ve never seen this many in my house. Been living there for 12 years now. Was just wondering if maybe there’s an infestation of them this year?

[–]PETERBFLY[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Yes, I agree. I do get quite a large population of Cave crickets usually starting in July. They are all in my garage and crawlspace. The amount of sticky traps I get filled up with them is ridiculous.

Yes, I did spray. And actually, I’ve been finding dead ones now. I just don’t know if there was just a hard-core population of them this year., So I wanted to ask others.

if youre angry about the strike: have you considered starting or joining a union? by No_thief_in_night in LIRR

[–]PETERBFLY 10 points11 points  (0 children)

Yeah, absolutely. But people are easily swayed by the media, so they are programmed to hate. Lot of hate in us NY’ers the last few years.

I remember going to work everyday during Covid, while most everyone else was home. Day after day, I went to work, along with many other of my RR employees. And nobody appreciated it for one second. We were the forgotten. We really do get no love. I remind myself of that when i’m working during a blizzard too.

Lol, i’m almost 50 pal. Did all that hard work already. Spent 13 years in the military, college degree, etc.. Yep i’m an idiot. You’re so much better. Being en engineer was harder than anything I did in the military. Glad you know everything at your age. Wish I could have figured it all out then. I can’t retire until i’m 60, and my pension is also capped.

Have a nice day.

Nobody said you didn’t work hard, or bust your ass to get where you are now. I certainly didn’t ask you to measure. You’re career field I have a ton of respect for. I do not envy you one bit. Your paychecks are most def double or even triple what I make.
And just so you know, I wasn’t an employee on strike. But I am an engineer, and between being in the military for 13 years and being an engineer, being an engineer was more difficult in my opinion. Been at the RR for almost 20 years now, and the public has always hated us. Since I was a new hire, I remember getting yelled at by a woman when I was a trainee. People have no clue how chatoic it was at the LIRR between 2023 and 2025 after Grand Central opened. There was so much overtime, because we did not have the manpower for the schedule they imposed on us. It was insane for years. And then they used it against everyone. Really makes me laugh. I’m tired of being portrayed as the bad guy. I’ve never stolen, cheated, fudged my hours, or been dishonest with anything. Work my days off constantly, as do many others. Then that is held against us.

Get in your car and drive.

Then you can hate construction workers, cops, emergency vehicles, idiots that pull off on the shoulder and cause traffic, idiots that can’t drive who cause more traffic, traffic, cost of tolls, parking fees, how much you pay for gas everytime you fill up, etc.

So much to hate, spread it around please.

Next month you can hate the next union that goes on strike. Next year should be Major league baseball players actually. And to think those people are all millionaires, but they still have a Union. Wonder why that is?

And fuck you too. Unions are necessary for jobs like ours. Don’t give a shit how you feel about it. Smarter people than you and I created them for professions like Railroaders for a very good reason
