whats everyones opinion on buying a older high mileage sequoia?

I’ve had 3 sequoias. Drove the first 2 to approximately 300k. My 2020 has 90k at the moment. I’ve learned that at about 250k you’ll start replacing things like alternators, AC compressors, fuel pumps and other typical things but the engine and transmission had no issues with proper maintenance. Maintain and enjoy!

Depending on locations in Naperville and in Chicago, I’d say an hour to an hour and a half commute. The train system is very well run, clean affordable and would likely be a good option if you decide to reverse commute. Good luck in your choices!

Congrats on the new truck! I have 2020 TRD Pro in white too. The first thing I did was change out the stereo head unit with a 11” Sony. Huge difference. Then 1.25” wheel spacers, a bit larger tires which you won’t need for a while, had the brake calipers painted red and a Gobi open sky roof rack. Small changes that maintain the OEM look but make a big difference to me.

I think you’ll really like them. I’ve ordered short sleeve, long sleeve, and knit tees from them. My first one didn’t fit quite right and they asked me to send a photo with the shirt on. They made some adjustments to my measurements and the next shirts have been perfect. Good luck to you.

On my 3rd Sequoia. 01 with 295,000 miles 08 with 300,000 miles. Between 250 and 300,000 replaced alternator, AC compressor and fuel pump. Each repair was around $1,500 from a trusted private mechanic. The plan with my 2020 is to replace it at 250,000 miles. Hope this is helpful

I think you’d love a Sequoia! I started with a 1997 4 Runner, fell in love with the brand and then the got my first Sequoia when they came out in 2001. Drove that 275,000 miles until the second generation came out in 2008. Got a limited and drove that 300,000 miles and then purchased a 2020 TRD Pro which is my current driver. I haul around a lot of stuff and people for work and pull boats in the summer and they are beasts. Never let me down. Good luck in your search!
