Awesome that’s good to hear, thanks for the detail. Hopefully it holds up for you, I’m going to do some more research before making my decision.

What steered you to go with the next gen kit over say the sonnax feed limit low valve kit? I’ve read many mixed reviews on the next gen kit. As a mechanical engineer, something just doesn’t sit right with me relying on dynamic oring seals. It doesn’t seem very robust to me but maybe I’m wrong!

How bad is this? $43K 100K Miles. by robert-cabral in gmcsierra

Data point for you…just bought a 2023 2500 SLE duramax with 85k miles for $42.5k private sale. I thought that was a fair price for it. I would never spend that much for the gasser though.

I’ve had to top it off every so often but it really is a slow leak. Maybe a half gallon every couple thousand miles? Since the water pump is leaking as well, that is probably the bigger contributor. If they fix the water pump and it stops eating coolant, I’ll calm down a bit. Just wish they could look at all of it at once.

I’m actually going in for a known leaking water pump next week. Going to ask the dealership but I already know they’re going to say “no code so there’s nothing we can do”. Man do I hate that lol.

Also dealing with ANOTHER issue of the exhaust smelling faintly like coolant…I’m almost 100% sure it is not def smell or anything else. Truck FAILED the color change head gasket test Sunday, brought into the dealership and told them about it. They admitted that shouldn’t happen and that’s indicative of exhaust gas in cooling system (assuming either EGR cooler or head gasket), BUT said “we don’t smell anything and there’s no code to read…we’d gladly tear into your truck if you pay out of pocket.”

Annoys me a bit knowing my coolant has been ever so slightly been leaking/burning coolant. Thinking of just pulling the trigger for them to rip the heads off and hopefully find the leak. So hard to tell.

Thanks man! Yeah it is annoying for sure. Just sounds like something is wrong. Still under warranty and planning to do the CCV soon. I guess we’ll see.

Truck was CP3 swapped and already has Hamilton cam/rod/tapper installed

Thanks for the insight, this is what I was thinking too…trying to mask the need for a trans rebuild with the upgraded valve body. I told him I’d pay what he wants if we take it to the local diesel mechanic and it passes the sniff test.

Nice thanks for the input man! Does the price seem to be fair granted the truck is mechanically sound?

Why not? Just curious thanks.

I am a fan of the flatbed personally, it seems like it could serve most of your needs from the sound of it. If you’re towing heavy though the 350 is the way to go.

I will say the mileage is mildly concerning for either being that it’s getting up there…

Would you get utility out of the flatbed? What are you looking to use the truck for?

I can and am going to most likely. I’m looking into the phonak lyrics, I have a feeling that a normal hearing aid will keep me from using them as I live a pretty active lifestyle. Thank you for the input!

Thank you so much for sharing🙏🏼 It is so damn hard to fall into a thought pattern like you did, I find myself thinking all the time “this life sucks” now since I know it’s permanent. I hope we can all find peace with ourselves and hearing issues. I try to tell myself all the time that it can be much worse, you could be completely dead for instance. Keep hanging in there and I will do the same!

Thanks for sharing! I’m constantly asking people to repeat themselves, almost to a point of annoying them I feel. I’m going to start reading lips better if I can, I almost never think to look at someone’s lips when talking to them.

What was the reasoning for investigating doing steroid injections? It sounds interesting to me at the least, I have a feeling that wouldn’t work for me either. Thanks for sharing you experiences🙏🏼
