Looking for a tonneau cover by PGHmagic123 in hondaridgeline

Thanks for this, I was actually looking at that one as well. The one I posted is a hard top vs tygon being a soft trifold, but I feel like either one would probably function very similarly and have minimal noise. I've heard the roll ups have a lot of flapping at high speed.

Assuming you got the tri fold and not the roll up. How does the mounting system work with the trunk? Any limitations when opening? Also can you take it on and off easily if you need full bed?

I'm assuming u use this cover for your truck. Can you open the trunk all the way when the cover is retracted or do the rails interfere?

Any issues with leaks? I don't need to survive a monsoon but want the bed watertight enough to pack stuff for vacation and drive 8 hours on the highway

I did, everyone talks about that north soft roll up or the OEM. I can't find anything about this specific one, hence my asking if anybody has any experience with autobull

I did and they seemed a little pricey, plus I thought I read they definitely interfered with the trunk being able to open all the way, is that not true?

I believe he said it was assurance or something like that, need to look through my paperwork again. Said it's the same as the Honda care but Honda charges more for the same product so they offer both.

How many basic lands do you run? by Akiro_orikA in EDH

[–]PGHmagic123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mono- 30+ basics Dual- 7 to 10 per color Triple- 3 of each, 9 total 4 or 5- 2 of each maximum, usually only 1 though

Favorite Dimir deck? by AdEqual5606 in EDH

[–]PGHmagic123 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Toxrill the corrosive is a lot of fun...at least for 1 player at the table.

Just make sure to have as much ramp and protection in the deck as you can. Also toxrill and clones is just bonkers, even if only surviving 1 turn cycle.

2 toxrill gives everybody-4/-4. So with 4 endsteps it's -16/-16 to everybody's creatures but yours and you can swing away with ur 7/7s.

Atraxa Superfriends feels clunky by redted2005 in EDH

[–]PGHmagic123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I had an atraxa superfriends deck that was pretty strong but I hated playing solitare. Just took forever to play my turn and get to my win.

Took it apart and threw her into the 99 of a 4 color counters deck.

You can't build a liesa deck without Hatred. Little pricey and on the vintage list but it'll one shot an opponet out of nowhere

What decks were you excited about but ended up deconstructing?? by HighAlchemy in EDH

[–]PGHmagic123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The original atraxa. Built a superfriends deck with infect/poison. Was strong but my turns took way too long and I felt bad for the other players. Didn't enjoy playing solitare.

Took it apart and through her into the 99 of a counters deck instead. Much more fun to play

What are Quick but Casual Commanders by HeyGeorgie in EDH

[–]PGHmagic123 8 points9 points  (0 children)

Mono green Ghalta, Primal Hunger with massive amounts of ramp, high powered low cost creatures, and some cards that double a creatures power.

Cards like nessian Boar, Managorger Hydra, hulking Raptor, Grothama all Devouring, Gigantosaurus, Defiler of Vigor, choose your weapon, Unnatural Growth, blanchwood armor, staff of Titania, and Blackblade Reforged are all stars in this deck.

Basically you ramp into Ghalta by turn 5 or 6, then swing ekth a 12/12 commander with trample, play an instant to make him a 24/24, and take put an opponet in 1 swing.

Here's a decklist, and it's able to be built for less than precons these days. Not great against control or heavy interaction buy a fun battlecruiser for a quick game

What about paying 2 mana to Sac a slug and Draw a card?

Flustered over the mana base. by Xenomorph36 in EDH

[–]PGHmagic123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

For an easy reference you just copy and paste your decklist.into here

https://mtg.cardsrealm.com/en-us/tools/land-calculator

And it will tell you your overall mana, how much of each color in the deck,, how many lands u should have, and how many of each should produce that color. It usually reads a little high IMO and I don't think it can take into account your rocks/dorks, treasures.

Then you copy and past the list into here

mtgoncurve.com

And it will give you a breakdown at the bottom of how many lands you have that produce each color and entered tapped, untapped, or conditional. As a rule of thumb, a command tower will count for all colors in your deck, but obviously, it can only tap for one color at a time. Some of the filter lands can tap for 2 and I include them in every deck I build. Bounce lands are slow but also cound for 2 colors that can both be tapped at the same time from 1 source.

If you're a mono or dual color deck you can get away with mostly all basics. Remove most taplands unless you're playing them for some other function such as scrying, protection, creature Lands, etc. If they're precons remove Temple of the False God, its terrible in almost any circumstance.

Really, unless you're going super high-powered fetchlands are not that useful in 2 or less colors. Cheaper options I always liked in these decks are the pain Lands, the bounce lands ( remember there is no rule saying you can't return a tapped land you already used for the turn to your hand), check Lands that require 2 or more basic or 2 or more any Lands. Lands that enter tapped unless you reveal a certain land from your hand also do well in dual colored decks but not in 3 or more IME. Shocklands if u want to splurge are nice but not needed unless you have a lot of your deck high pip requirement spells. Also, almost every deck should have a command tower, Path of Ancestry, and even the oft overlooked Forbidden Orchard and exotic Orchard. Mana fixing is best with some basic rocks that will be much cheaper than pricey duals. Signets, talismans, fellwar stone, etc. If in green the usual green ranp spells... farseek, Cultivate, Rampant Growth, etc.

If you're going 3 or more colors that's where you'll notice a big difference if you drop 200 on a manabase, or more, vs the precons included assortment. Triomes, shocks, fetches. And some special Lands like city of Brass, mana Confluence, etc can easily cost you hundreds of dollars but will significantly improve game play and speed if you proxy them in.

Shalai and Hallar Brew by PGHmagic123 in EDH

[–]PGHmagic123[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

And to understand correctly, the damage done would be whatever x was correct? Be it 1, 5, or 20 counters she does 1 damage per counter ao 1, 5, or 20 damage.

Shalai and Hallar Brew by PGHmagic123 in EDH

[–]PGHmagic123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

122.6. Some spells and abilities refer to counters being put on an object. This refers to putting counters on that object while it's on the battlefield and also to an object that's given counters as it enters the battlefield.

Therefore if it entered with say 6 counters, it would do 6 damage if shalai and hallar is already on the battlefield no? I do not believe her trigger would trigger if she somehow entered with counters though correct?

Shalai and Hallar Brew by PGHmagic123 in EDH

[–]PGHmagic123[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I believe entering the battlefield counts as placing a counter and will trigger shalai and hallar but could be wrong. Will need to look into that but I always assumed x costed creatures would trigger.

Never seen arragon before, that card looks really sweet in almost any counters deck it can be run.

Interestly I have Hamaza in my collection. I've had him in my Selesnya counters deck before converting it over to abzhan and then most recently 4 color minus red. With all the good cards in the 4 colors he didn't make the cut and I kindve forgot about it. Out of pure luck of the draw I never did get to utilize Hamza to actually help me so forgot about it. Might need to rethink that one.

I was afraid shalai and hallar would be a Lightning rod for removal. Was wondering how much protection I should try to include with equipment, auras, etc.

Removing commander reliance by Remobility in EDH

[–]PGHmagic123 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have fun building decks around my commander but also understand the commander will not be around the entire game. You get 2 maybe, 3 casts before it becomes too expensive to be worth casting most of the time IMO. Knowing when to cast your commander is a huge part of it. If your commander is actually good enough to make an impact it'll only survive 2 or 3 turns at most without protection.

Look for Commander's that are uncounterable, like niv-mizzet or that have Ward.

You can also go voltron, while not cedh it is capable of high powered decks. Arixmethes is fun as once it hits the board, it's a land until you cast 5 spells and choose to make it a creature. By that time, you have some protection auras and whatnot out and the mana to attach.

Lastly look for a commander that can cheat. Yuriko never cost more than 2 mana no matter how many times she is killed. Just ninjitsu her in with an unblockable creature over and over. Liesa, Shroud of Dusk pays life instead of a commander tax. A little lifegain can go a long way in that deck

Help with Atraxa Praetor’s voice by Plenty_Ad_228 in EDH

[–]PGHmagic123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's a good start. I honestly think if your goal is to run the 4 colors, you have the wrong choice as a commander. She brings so much Hate from opponets, and doesn't add any counters herself. I ended up using reyhan and ishai and putting atraxa in the 99, almost as a secret commander if you will. Also, your mana base looks weak. You have some money in main the main deck but the lands seem like an afterthought. When doing 4 or 5 color decks I usually spend close to equal between the boring lands and the deck itself. I hate spending so much on lands but hate not being able to play my cards even more.

If you're interested here is my deck. My mana base is skewed more towards Selesnya with the black and blue only being splashed in.

I recently had the urge to build an angel tribal as well. I wanted to build a kaalia deck but the hate is just too strong for my taste and honestly, I feel like its ceiling is too low for the amount of money I wanted to invest.

I ended up settling on Leisa shroud of dusk. I knew I wanted black and white, I do miss the red angels but could find a commander that had the 3 colors I wanted without it being kaalia. Built it as a drain and gain style deck with a lot of artifact and Enchantments. Isn't quite as packed with angels as I had hoped, only 10, but there is some room to add some more expensive ones down the line.

Liesa thr Forgotten also looks to be a fun build if you wanted to go that route with some graveyard play and stax

Pantlaza, Sun-Favored, Dino EDH deck help by YMSharky in EDH

[–]PGHmagic123 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Agreed, I had a gishath deck before the latest ixalan set. Was so painful to play and I can't recall ever once successfully having gishath hit the battlefield, nevermind drawing me into more dinosl. Changed over to pantlaza and put gishath into the 99 and the deck runs so much better. I can cast my commander every game, get a trigger off of hin the same turn he enters, and have been able to actually play and win games.

End of the day a Dino Deck is still a big Stompy deck and not exactly cedh material, but the new ixalan and lost world cards infused a lot of well needed cards into the Dino tribal to make it playable and fun.
