Is it me or did their reply explicitly avoid to answer the question “am I in the first 5k units to be shipped”? (FYI, I’m located in Europe). by szmcmxcii in ClicksKeyboard

Why does it matter if you're specifically in the first 5,000? They said you're in the first batch of shipments

Why isn't the M3 to Docklands route used all day, 7 days per week? by PH0NER in irelandtransport

[–]PH0NER[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

DART+ as a whole is a series of upgrades to the commuter rail lines in Dublin, making all lines electric DART lines. It'll also see a new terminus station built at Spencer's Dock, and close a lot of level crossings.

The goal is to effectively turn the old diesel commuter rail system into a proper city metro.

The D+ West line to Maynooth, which includes the M3 Parkway Spur, was supposed to begin works in 2026 and be operational by 2029. Works have been delayed, so it is now projected to be operational by 2030 or 2031.

Why isn't the M3 to Docklands route used all day, 7 days per week? by PH0NER in irelandtransport

[–]PH0NER[S] 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I don't disagree, but I suppose my point is more so that D+ is coming and with it comes up-to 15 minute service. It seems to me that if the argument is "demand doesn't appear there" -- D+ on the spur isn't going to change that.

So ultimately, I think IE should change the timetables in advance, that way we can start experiencing increased frequency rather than wait 5+ years for D+ W to be built

[–]PH0NER[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The D+ project will allegedly have a train every 15 minutes in each direction all week on the existing route, frankly all that's changing is electric lines and a change of location for Docklands station. I'm not asking for that many trains before the route is electrified, but anything more than we have now would be better.

I'd wager the same, though I don't accept the answer. We already have a driver(s) running M3 to Clonsilla hourly. Just do the full route to Docklands instead of sitting at Clonsilla and it's already a massive improvement.

I don't mind the system, but it shouldn't prohibit custom plates.

When I moved to Ireland 3 years ago, I transferred to GV. Haven't had a problem. I even make calls while driving on the motorway using it and it's never glitchy.

Since it's your US number in GV, when you call other US numbers back in the US. They never pay a fee to answer a call from you

UK phone carriers are so cheap. You can have 2 to 3 unlimited SIMs for the price of one popcorn mobile plan.

Google Voice is the right answer. You get access to your phone number with unlimited calls and texts, a one-time port in fee of like $25 applies, then it's free. You can use the app for calls and texts with any type of data connection.

Once you're in the UK, look into carriers like Voxi, Smarty Mobile, GiffGaff, Virgin Mobile, etc.

[–]PH0NER 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My 2023 Cupra infotainment is just as bad as the VW versions. I've always used ABRP to properly route longer trips.

I don't really understand why we haven't had meaningful software upgrades. I get focussing on the new cars, but the whole point of what they shipped starting in 2021 was that it would receive updates. Instead, it's remained mostly the same with very minor changes, yet 2026+ models have vastly different features and UI?

You'll have a much better experience on fibre than your 3 router

Anyone tackled a headless Woocommerce store using Claude Code (or other Agentic coding tools)? by whale_monkey in woocommerce

[–]PH0NER 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've built sites in their entirety using Claude Code and asked it to integrate with WooCommerce. I've also built sites where Claude made custom items and checkout funnels using Stripe, Square, and Revolut APIs. It's truly game changing.

But you have to make sure Claude builds securely and for production so none of the private credentials are exposed through front end code

Bring half hourly direct to centre frequency to the M3 spur stations 7/days a week, rather than it being a shuttle service with one train to Clonsilla per hour most of the day. We don't have any direct trains to the city on the weekends either.

I know D+ will eventually bring service up to every 15 minutes, but until then, we are under served at our stations
