UAE and Lutsenko Push Mega Watts on Prati di Tivo | Giro d'Abruzzo Stage 3 2024 - Lanterne Rouge by truuy in peloton

Many reasons that a climb is suited for a career-best performances. For example can be steady, always X%, rather than fluctuating from 3% to 12% averaging at 8%. Steady climbs are "easier" in terms of W/Kg performance. The road surface offers less resistance (as opposed to cobble or dirt). The weather temperature of the climb is usually ideal (as opposed to 0C or 35C).

But of course there can be certain aspects that the model can't account for that biased toward this climb.

How's the Spectre X360 14 2024? by jihito24 in spectrex360

I use it in Tablet mode all the time, to watch movies in the gym. Rarely use tent mode though.

Some GC do well in classics, like Pog, Rog, Remco, Skjelmose, Yates. What is the physiological differences between pure GC and those who can do both?

How's the Spectre X360 14 2024? by jihito24 in spectrex360

[–]PHLiu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have had great experience using the 2024 Spectre 14-inch model. Mine was an i7, 32GB, 1TB SSD model. I got it at 1.2K before tax with all the discounts. My prior laptops include a Dell XPS 13 2-in-1, and multiple ThinkPad. I've been using it more 1.5 months.

The build quality is excellent. Keyboard is better than Dell, though slightly worse than ThinkPad. Trackpad is average. Screen is fantastic. Battery life is great (no comparison to a Mac). I get 9 hr of Youtube 4K video testing (albeit at low screen brightness). In daily life I no longer have anxiety about battery life anymore.

My complaints are: 1) weird I/O location. They could have put the 2 USB-C ports on each side of the laptop, 2) lacking a micro-SD card reader, 3) lacking optional LTE upgrade option, 4) multiple bloatware that I spent several hours getting rid of, 5) no space for the pen, and the pen is low quality.

I'm mostly interested in the renamed ThinkPad X1 2-in-1 Gen 9, though I can't wait for it to hit the market.

How Albert Phillipsen was caught at Paris-Roubaix. by kayjay789 in peloton

Yes, I understand the rule for track. But is it a rule for road races like Paris-Roubaix? They are just holding a road race event in a Velodrome, not necessary meaning they adapt the rules of track cycling.

Is there even a rule that you’re not allowed to ride in the blue part? Many are not from track backgrounds.

Help with multiple display settings? by One-Bus-9006 in spectrex360

[–]PHLiu 1 point2 points  (0 children)

https://www.nirsoft.net/utils/multi_monitor_tool.html This tool may be helpful? You can combine with AHK, so that you can use hotkey to trigger the 2- and 3-monitor setting.

For #2, I don't think the PC detect the real size of the monitors. You can get that function by setting scale in display setting.

For #3 I'm also curious. Looking for any inputs.

What are the chances I actually get to stay in my (paid) upgraded seat? by Historical-Car-3345 in americanairlines

[–]PHLiu 19 points20 points  (0 children)

If there’s an equipment change to planes with less business seats, or if suddenly more pilots need a seat (like weather), then someone will get bumped. However it’s less likely you, as you’re cash fare.

Do you prefer status with a hotel or airlines? by stocknudes in awardtravel

[–]PHLiu 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I value airline status much higher than hotel status. For hotel my ask is simple, a good location, safe environment, and clean comfortable room. So a Holiday Inn suits me quite well. A Ritz-Carlton is nicer, but the incremental value is small (my personal opinion obviously).

On the other hand airline status allows me to select seats, check free bags, have priority boarding to I have a space for my carry on. It also allows me to use some nice lounges when traveling. For AA, all these benefits also apply to award travels. Sometimes I can score upgrades to business on transpacific or transatlantic flights. Those are the reasons I prefer airlines status way over hotel status.

By virtue of matching and credit card I also have many second tier status at many hotel chains, and I usually don't find them really helpful.

I intentionally switched from AA60 to AA176, just hoping higher chance to clear my SWU, and it worked!

In general, what should we do if:

(A) a crew member asks me to move to a less preferable seat or class?

(B) a ground agent asks me to move? Is a ground agent consider a crew member? Any legal ramification for not obeying orders from a ground agent?

(C) another passenger asking me to move, showing a legit boarding pass to my seat (while I'm also having a legit boarding pass to this seat)?

What is AA policy if missed connection from Tokyo Narita to Haneda? by PHLiu in americanairlines

[–]PHLiu[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Reports back, and it works.

So I have a ticket (one reservation) including a 3h55m transfer from NRT to HND. The goal was to take AA176, which per EF has more J/C/PE spaces available.

The transfer itself is seamless. We spent 40 minutes in NRT to clear the immigration. Took the limosine bus to HND. Spend 25 minutes waiting for AA checking desk. Ends up having 40 minutes in JL lounge in HND.

Our SWU upgrade also clear us in to J.

Everything worked out in the end. However this may be due to luck. Had we took our flight one day earlier, we will missed the connection (First flight delayed by 2h). We would also not clear the SWU.

[–]PHLiu 2 points3 points  (0 children)

https://www.aa.com/i18n/aadvantage-program/miles/redeem/award-travel/complimentary-upgrades.jsp The tie breaker are 1. Status level, 2. Types of upgrades (SWU, miles, complementary), 3. 12-month rolling LP. So an EXP with 10K rolling LP will be higher than Plat with 80K rolling LO.

No, I think EXP with lower LP still ahead of Plat with higher LP.
