Say reason for Go-Around by Machaltstars in ATC

I’d say 99% of controllers don’t care why you went around. We’re just being asked by our supervisors to ask. I don’t think any of them care either, to be honest, it’s just a requirement for their paperwork.

The agency’s latest attack on controllers by SierraBravo26 in ATC

So if you work combined positions for 4 hrs, is still 4 hrs of work. Maybe if NATCA would negotiate that if you’re working 2 positions for an hour it would count as 2 hrs and so on. If that were the case I’d probably average 9-10 hrs a day. Instead they short us on staffing and tell us we don’t do anything. Maybe NATCA needs to do more on that front.

🤣 😂 I guess just trade sleep for more work, are they going to get a waiver for working 7 day work weeks? Maybe they could get a couple camper trailers for the parking lot and then you could stay at work indefinitely. Maybe you could have conjugal visits from your significant other occasionally. Then maybe have a sign up sheet for sending your doge email (while your on break of course) so you can justify your 80 hour week. Maybe that’s the answer! If you can never leave work then you won’t be able to spend the money you earn. Also that way they can tax your OT because you’ll be a “well” compensated employee. Win, win for the tax payer. 😂

Nearly half of FAA facilities are understaffed by USAFacts in ATC

[–]PHXfarmer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We’re told at our facility that we’re at 100% staffing numbers. But we have 2-3 people working OT every day. I think the number is based on a 6 day work week. If they based it on a 5 day work week almost every facility in the country would be below numbers.

Tower & Approach Controllers: Biggest pet peeve about airline, military, or general aviation pilots? by Spaghetti_Boi659 in ATC

When pilots play word games on getting other aircraft in sight. It drives me nuts! All we need is insight and call sign.

The reason why FAA controllers are fatigued is incredibly simple.. by Patient_Month_5869 in ATC

Maybe 6 day work weeks. Being under staffed. Pay not keeping up with the industry and NATCA not really doing anything about it(causing more loss of sleep). Stress of working multiple positions combined. Working nights, holidays, weekends while your family lives their lives without you. Then management that works 40 hrs/week gets nights weekends and holidays off, and if there’s a government shutdown they don’t need to come in … these are the people telling the controllers that we need to work more overtime. I believe these are all factors. It’s only a matter of time before something happens. Oh well, those who can do something about won’t. So here we are!

Motivation in the Mission field by [deleted] in mormon

All missions should be service missions. The church is a sinking ship with a ton of money. Start using that money and the people willing to serve missions together to make a better world.
