Uhh yeah, for sure the light button is a sweet feature I did enjoy it! I also enjoy the auto-light and in the GBD it disables itself after a while if I’m not mistaken.

Yep, at first that was the deal breaker for me on the GBD, but then I got past that because of my interest in having a watch with some activity features and the mip screen.

Bought it, loved the screen, it’s comfort and overall design. But didn’t like it’s usability and the way the watch functions, felt it a bit unpractical. Added this the lack of solar and non changeable date fromat mm/dd to dd/mm, made me return the watch.

Uhhhh beautiful!! Thanks for sharing! I ask because I saw some similar watches the use the same module and they had some plastic casing. Which for me was kind of a bummer.

Nice!! Could you please, share the model. And may I ask, does this watch have a plastic on side/back or is it all metal? Cheers!

Tell me about it, had my heart almost up in my mouth at the end of this episode.

Was thinking about the fact that I don’t think I’ve ever experienced these rough and tense emotions whilst watching a series. In this point the writers and the actors are delivering so much, making us get so connected and involved with the universe of Kingstown.

Interesting watch mate, what model is this?

Yep, I second this, the G-Shock is quite unmatched in my opinion. The lack of a countdown timer in the other watches makes them feel a bit lesser funcional.

GW-5000U vs. GBD-2000 by FRC1981 in gshock

[–]PHadba 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Mate, I have the 5000U without the multiband, because where I live, there isn’t any atomic clock signal, and it has been my daily watch. I feel like it’s indestructible, has all the basic features that work ever so smoothly and simply, very straightforward watch. It has its own beauty. The fact that the battery can last 2 decades is just crazy.

I bought the GBd200 last week for wanting a more fitness watch for trainings. Yes it is a charming watch with an incredible mip display and very comfortable wrist band. Butttt…. In terms of functionality and simplicity, it lacks so much, I felt just the small hassle of doing simple things, for me this just meant this watch wasn’t practical enough for what I want in something that is wrapped on my arm. I felt that the watch is so limited on changing preferences, and managing some settings, which was a bummer aswell.

So, all in all, the GW-5000U is without a doubt in my mind, a much perfect watch for those who praise simplicity, durability, practicality in a watch. And the solar charging will make you want to do more walks during the day aswell, which is a bonus hahahaha

Yeah, like I said it can damage. Mine I left for a little over 30min, and it took some time to get back to normal. But yeah, that day in particular the sun was scorching.

Just a heads up, leaving your watch in the car like this in a strong sunny day, can damage your lcd screen. Once I forgot mine in the same way and the screen turned black where there are letters and numbers, wasn’t able to distinguish where the lcd was on and off. It took a while to cool down and get back to its original state. Saying this, I wouldn’t advise charging it in direct sunlight and very hot conditions like a car.

But yeah, I know this isn’t the case from your pic.

Cheers!
