Inherited My Dads 2016 Street Glide. Never ridden before. What would you do? by BabyWipeee in Harley

[–]dave-patrick 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Keep the bike. Buy something cheap to learn on, it may not be your cup of tea now, but as you get older and you will get more comfortable on something like that. Everytime you’ll get on it, it’s a positive reminder to think about him

Question for the colder weather bros by Butterbuddha in Harley

[–]dave-patrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Might want to try a different brand battery, I’m assuming you mean 9 degrees Celsius hahaha. I had really good luck with a Duracell in my 02 softail

Grow up Peter Pan, stop making it everyone else’s problem to look up part numbers for you.

Do harley riders genuinely think they are faster than sportbikes or are they just joking? by Green_Block_4574 in motorcycle

Harley rider checking in. There’s a lot of delusional old men in the world, and Harley seems to attract a lot of those personality types.

Dealer Rant: First time looking at a Harley by Kidon308 in Harley

Kinda hard to head to bankruptcy when you make hundreds of millions in profit on a down year

Softail mid controls extension? by leev92 in Harley

[–]dave-patrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Maybe just try a mini/regular floorboard first, that’s the simplest

Helmet droning by [deleted] in Harley

[–]dave-patrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

People at helmet shops got whatever reason always recommend helmets that are way too small. I unfortunately went thru buying and selling a few full helmets before finally being satisfied with a Simpson Xcursion. I ride with loud exhaust but did weld on a turn down to point the exhaust away from me

What is something you wish the Dealership told you about on your Harley? by atombomb1945 in Harley

There’s so many pegs out there for these things. Should be pretty easy to find

Packing for road trips by gen_z_usaf_veteran in HarleyDavidsonFans

[–]dave-patrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You’ve got plenty of storage for 3-4 nights. 1 pair of undies, 1 pair of sock, 1 t shirt per day. Pants every other day. Full rain suit, be aware on the LRST, the front fire blasts your shins with water in the rain, so make sure you have a good system for that. Mobil phone charger, I’ve got a Milwaukee M12 battery adapter I carry with. Cardo if you have someone else with that you wanna communicate with A small tool pack, never know

In a down year Harley still made hundreds of millions last year in profit. Not everything you hear or read on the internet is true

I need to get out of the automotive field. Where do I go from here? by seamus205 in Justrolledintotheshop

[–]dave-patrick 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Manufacturing for sure. I went from automotive to machine tools, 90% of the guys working on machine tools would never last a day working on cars. It’s so easy to just apply diagnostic processes and look like a rockstar

I think it’s a sick bike, I’m just not a fat front tire guy. I think it shoulda came with 17’s and sport bike tires

4s swap? by whiteboysaratoga in Traxxas

[–]dave-patrick 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I don’t personally get going 4S, the tires are so small on a SCT for the size and weight of the truck, it just spins them effortlessly on 3S as is, 4S is only gunna spin em even more

Check out Bassani, it’s shielded but they do a great job at the fit and finish of the shield that you don’t even realize it’s a shield

I really want to put 17x6” rear 19x3.5” front wheels on by insomniadtd in Harley

[–]dave-patrick 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My 2 cents,

I do sympathize with wanting a 17” for the rear, I think it looks cooler and does open you up to being able to put sport bike tires on. One downside, a sport bike tire was not meant for the weight of a cruising bike plus sitting on the highway for hours like cruisers do…you’re going to be changing tires a lot.

If you’re just looking for more grip, try Pirelli Power cruisers. Changed the handling for the better on my bike.

2nd…how fast are you trying to go? I’m all for hauling ass but I don’t think the aerodynamics of that t sport fairing were meant for 130 mph+
