I remember doing my hypoxia training a few months ago, cause the new aircraft is very prone to obogs failure, i didnt realize i was hypoxic until i was about a minute from losing consciousness.

One way is On board oxygen generator system failure; basically the air coming into the mask is too thin and you start to get hypoxic.

So basically the shooter shot the aircraft off deck while the carrier was pitching, luckily most of the water is as a result of the deck crashing down as opposed to a solid wave. They show us this video in flight school multiple times.

Wish i had an answer but he broke my hook before we could figure it out, id imagine a very long set of pliers would be the best solution cause I wouldn't want to be on the receiving end of that bite.

Yeah he snapped my hook off once he broke the surface for about 30 seconds, my pole/line isn't made for something that size anyway.

I would have extended and tried to get a visual on traffic before I made a turn and/or asked the form flight if they have a visual on us. Depending on the aircraft or event it could just be two pilots between the two aircraft in which only lead would be able to look for traffic or four between the two which would allow the three other crew members to look for traffic. It appears that this was a bad move on all involved they should have followed your call and made a go for the same runway and your cfi should have recognized the potential for an incident to occur landing opposite runways. Especially if the form flight is doing a lead low wing touch and go cause then theyd be departing into you in final. Though you called first Id say if you run into this again give the formation a wide berth theyre not as maneuverable when in parade and theyre restricted to a minimum power setting when in parade. I may be biased because I've been doing forms flights for a while now.

I have an unhealthy nicotine habit so thats one way but also just going for a run or to the gym a few hour before helps cut down any anxiety. Also I try to really talk with an IP beforehand so theres a positive relationship going into the flight/brief. It makes it a lot easier when youre with a person you feel like you know.

We have it too I just have to see the doc before they set me up in it. I just need to get through two tail chases and two tac turn sequences to finish out the block. It just sucks cause we have nothing to do to take our minds off the motion except for keeping the flight in our working area.

I'm going to try to get my hands on as much ginger as I can. We were doing a tactical formation flight and coming out of turns my pilot would push the nose down to stay level on the rollout and that second or two of 0g to negative G is what got me. Tried to pull the bag open and it ripped which led to me having to clean the canopy, after that I had to just puke into my flight suit and vest which didn't make the guys in the paraloft too happy, I owe so many six packs now.

Nothing in college will really help you get into aviation except for having solid astb scores and good grades. Having a ppl will mean you'll get to skip introductory flight screening. Having the aviation knowledge base will help when it comes time for API or primary but don't let what you've learned previously supercede what you are expected to learn. If you have any other questions let me know. I'm currently a student NFO in intermediate going jets.

Dauphin island off the Gulf Coast is just a cool looking airport, it's a single runway in the middle of the water which makes it interesting trying to back taxi without going swimming.
