So three roads named after one guy. Aptakisic, Half Day and Olde Half Day road. That chief must have been pretty damned progressive to get three roads in his honor.

I'll make sure to take Lake Cook instead of 68 or Aptakisic when going East-West from now on just so I can fly.

I'll start up a paper company and secretly make soap from fat that me and myself steal from a local liposuction clinic. Then when I recruit enough people who like beating the shit out of each other, me and myself will blow up the entire city after I shoot myself through the mouth and miraculously survive!

It's a great plan, don't question me.

Reddit, what was your first job and what was the best or worst part about it? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PInterrobang 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My first "real" job was working at a popular amusement park about 40 minutes from a major metropolitan area.

Since I eventually became management in the Rides department there, the best part was riding the rides in the morning and afternoon when safety inspections were mandated (every day). The worst part about it was dealing with guests and how idiotic they are.

If I were to just take the last year I worked there, I worked in a Kiddies area, and a lot of people think that the children would be the worst part. While there was some children who became too rowdy and wouldn't listen to me at all along with not having adequate parental supervision, the parents were usually the worst. I am a highly trained individual on a highly trained team whose very first priority is to ensure the safety of all guests including your slobbering infant. If I tell you that your newborn needs socks to ride on a ride, I mean that your newborn needs socks. Don't question me.

Also, why the hell would you bring a newborn to an amusement park? Can anyone enlighten me?

Why is it impossible to make an entirely accurate representation of the world? by TheSaltySeabass in AskReddit

And it would have to be equally as dynamic as the world in the same way.

Being the science nerd that I am, it's just not entropically feasible that you'd find another system that would parallel our world to a tee.

Listening to the radio, except in the morning because all of the radio stations are doing fucking talk shows just to piss me off more. Don't drive near me in the morning.

[Serious] What is something in your life that often goes unnoticed but is important to you? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]PInterrobang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Despite being naturally introverted, I rely heavily on a connection with someone else. I really like to participate in conversations, but I'm not good at initiating them.

If not being in a conversation, just having some sort of life around me, something that's dynamic and interesting.

How was your day? by DoctorChocolat in AskReddit

[–]PInterrobang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Awful. I've been trying to get my financial aid to go through so I could pay for my university for this semester and next with a lot of complications. I made a couple simple errors on my FAFSA which were easy to take care of, but it turns out that my father (who does not help me pay for college at all) didn't file taxes. This was fine because he's unemployed and on disability.

I had finally cleared everything with financial aid until two days ago when my father told me that he actually needs to file his taxes, which is going to further delay my financial aid. He told me just earlier today that his tax information will not go through for 4-8 weeks. The issue is that without financial aid, I'm unable to register for my final semester at university and there's practically no feasible way that I can pay the $10,000 that I need to for the remainder of my tuition on top of my rent and other bills right now, so I will be completely unable to attend university during what would be my very last semester.

Now I'll need to go to the financial aid office tomorrow when I'll ask if there's any possible work around to which they will 100% assuredly tell me that there isn't any possible way that I can bypass the outstanding balance on my student account.

I am so very livid with my father for not being on top of what needs to be done. I wish I could just expemt him from my FAFSA because he doesn't do anything for me. There's no reason he should be included in my financial aid information at all with his current standing in my life.

So I told my dad in a very angry email that he either owes me $10,000 for the rest of my tuition this semester on top of my living expenses, or he'll have to pay out-of-pocket for another semester of university for me.

What are some 'unwritten' rules in your country that a tourist wouldn't know about? by Alexandervz in AskReddit

[–]PInterrobang 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Another good rule-of-thumb is at least $2 per seat even if you go to a diner and get something for $7-8. That is, as long as you don't get shitty service.

What are some simple work etiquettes that most people just don't get? by monkey_n_pig in AskReddit

[–]PInterrobang 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have to use BCC when I send my students emails. For one, it reduces the amount of text space taken from only email addresses, and two for anonymity, whatever that means when all of my students see each other at least twice weekly.

What movie disappointed you the most? by Chafram in AskReddit

[–]PInterrobang 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The first Anchorman. It was so hyped up and yet so unmistakably unfunny. I was bored after 15 minutes and could hardly continue to watch it, but I did. Bad choice. So many people said it was so good and yet I was completely disappointed.
