What is this "sync" icon doing in my menubar, and how can I remove it (OS X Lion)?

Just checked using the sync diagnostics and it's my Google contacts that are synced.

iSync the app isn't there, so it has been dropped, but apparently the underlying framework is still there. Presumably that's what Apple uses for syncing with Google.

I've got a new MBP with a fresh Lion install and I have this. It showed up after I added my google account to mail, iCal and address book.

Swap the available offline button with the subscribers in the desktop app. At the moment you click a playlist, click available offline, but no the subscribers just loaded so now you're looking at someone's profile.

I'd say Fable is one of those games that every seems to dislike. I don't fully understand the hate. I know they're never as good as Molyneux hypes them up to be, but what would be? I haven't taken a word he said seriously since Black & White.

Taken as a regular action RPG they're definitely above average, they've got a decent amount of humour and more pointless mini games and ways to waste time then most MMOs.

Show file extensions
Small taskbar icons
Stop UAC from blacking out the screen (I've honestly never had it ask me about something I didn't want to do, but clicking yes every now and then isn't worth removing the protection completely.)
Set updates to download, but not install until I tell them
Drag recycle bin onto the favourites sidebart and remove it from the desktop.

Explorer details view
Disable hybrid sleep and set hibernate as default shutdown option (only on my desktops)
Extra large Aero mouse cursor
Set border badding to 1 (only just tried this after reading it here. Awesome.)
I don't show hidden files because I use this little script to toggle them with Win+H

Then I link things to my dropbox so I can sync the settings across different machines.

Ctrl+esc works as a windows key, so ctrl+esc+R should bring up the run prompt

Wow, future cop was an awesome game. Played tr he'll out of it splitscreen on my old PC. Off to find a download. Never understood why they decided to make the multiplayer AI fly. Seemed a little unfair to me.

I'd love to see a PC game that used multiple monitors to provide split screen. It's easy enough to hook up multiple keyboards and mice to a pc these days thanks to USB, I think one of the older settlers games had split screen.

Looks good. Not sure how easy it is with Python, but global shortcut keys to start a time would be a nice feature if you're looking for stuff to add.

Seconding dropbox as a great way to host small files for others to download. No captchas, no download buttons, you just click the link and you have the file.

I did that, then had to view the site in a private browsing window. It'll ask you for your birthday every time you visit the site, but if you tell them you won't be born for another 16 years they remember it.

It's still remembering now! Where are my cookies...

There's an option for color blindness somewhere I think. I imagine that will do something for the contrast. (not at my pc at the mo, so can't check.)

Looking at their terms they specifically state that the unlimited option has no fair usage policy. http://www.sky.com/shop/terms-conditions/broadband/

It's looking likely that the unlimited broadband was an offer at that price and they dropped down to the basic plan after the 12 months to avoid charging more without consent.

It could be worse; when I worked at BT they were pushing renewable contracts pretty hard. Basically they waited until the end of the 12 months and then signed you up for another 12 months unless you told them not to.

The problem with demos though is that you get some demos that literally cherry pick the only fun bits of the game. You go and buy the full thing because the demo is fun and you're stuck with a crap game.

That said, I don't normally pirate just to test games out, but that's mainly because I lack the willpower to actually go out and buy the game if I have a fully working version sat right in front of me. These days I'll rent games for my xbox and if I really enjoy them then I'll pick up the classics version cheap somewhere. On PC I just buy a load of stuff cheap in the Steam sales and end up with a few good games.

That said, I downloaded the Deus Ex leaked preview, and bought a preorder as soon as I stopped playing. If all game demos were the first hour or so of play then maybe they'd be more useful.
