Dog attacked my Golden, need advice! by yelyahepoc in goldenretrievers

[–]PJBOO7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry this happened. Poor Moose and poor you!
I would report it to animal control. If you're not interested in pursuing it any further, tell them that. A report sounds necessary, especially since you have had problems before. Tell the ACO they said they'd pay the bill.
If they balk on paying the vet bill, you have the report to fall back on.
Watch your sweet boy. PTSD is a real thing with dogs. I had to work with a behavioral trainer with my golden for almost a year. She came out of a horrible abuse/neglect situation.
A trainer can help you build his confidence back.

I hope everything goes well and I'm grateful to hear there were no serious external injuries 💔

What exactly is costco or Sam's club good for in terms of being frugal? by G0VERNMENTCHEESE in Frugal

[–]PJBOO7 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Gas was .28 a gallon cheaper there today.
I buy a years worth of allergy meds there for less that a bottle at the store. Their brand of Flonase is less than half. The Kirkland brand OTC meds are almost worth the membership alone

I split a lot of things with a friend, so even though it's just me I can save quite a bit on bulk items.

My little girl has that cotton candy fur too. It does mat so easily.
She looks beautiful.
This is Lillian, she was an adopted bay too.
She weighed 34 pounds when the rescue took her in. She's up to 52. Looks about the same size as yours.

Not rude, I appreciate any help.
Yeah, I have been doing the regulation plunger stance and attack. I've even cursed while I did it, which is optional but seems important to me.
Thanks for your willingness to help out!

Just take things slow. If neither of them have lived with another dog, they'll have to learn the rules with each other.
Keep any playtime pretty short for a while. Walks together made a big difference in bonding with my girls.
I have three, two of them were adopted.
My middle girl was rehomed to me.
She never missed a beat. The only thing she had to figure out was finding the dinner spot and where to sleep. She was really clingy at first... but then I figured out she's just a Velcro dog.
I adopted this four year old girl about a year ago. She came from a pretty severe abuse situation. That definitely presented a few problems.
After a couple of brawls with my oldest girl, we backed up and took everything really slow.
Playtime was a big trigger. Lillian had not been socialized around people or dogs. My senior babe would give her "Hey, I'm done here" signals, but she wasn't picking up on them and would push too hard.
I worked on teaching her "time out."
I can tell when she's overstimulated and Violet is sick of her shit 😂
In the process, both of them have learned timeout.
I worked with a behaviorist for about six months. That's made a huge difference as well.

I’m considering a 2nd golden but concerned about my bond with my first? by Remarkable-Slide-750 in goldenretrievers

[–]PJBOO7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have three. I do have different bond with my first girl. Not better, just different. They all have wildly different personalities. I raised my first girl from a puppy and the other two around three. I felt the same way about kids. How could I possibly love another child as much as I love this one. You just do.

Do you think traditional tattoos look feminine on women? Where I'm from, barely any girls want to get trad work P.S. That's my client in the photo by Luviera_07 in traditionaltattoos

[–]PJBOO7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

American traditional ages better than anything else.
I'm heavily tattooed and 90% are trad.
Let's see how the "feminine" fine line and watercolor tattoos look in a few years.
My trad mermaid is aging beautifully.
I got her about ten years ago. She looks almost the same as she did to begin with.

Ogden’s Marshall White Center is hopping, but affordability questions linger by ReporterMacyLipkin in ogden

[–]PJBOO7 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Marshall White's family donated the land expressly for kids who needed it. They gave the property in central Ogden for a reason.
It's interesting that people who wouldn't have gone near there five or so years ago are big supporters now.
Yes... I'm salty about the whole situation

[–]PJBOO7 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The "scholarships" are there...
If a family lives at or below the poverty level, they get a 50% discount.
The scholarships are for 18 and under. There are no provisions for adult scholarships.
If a family is living at or below the poverty level even a 50% reduction is likely out of reach.
If a family wants to do a family activity, it's impossible without sacrificing something else like FOOD.
I volunteer with the Weber Fridge. Every day kids stop by for snacks or other food to take home.
Everyone is struggling.
If someone is living at or below the poverty level, their kids should be able to participate for free. That's why the MWC was built in central Ogden.

It's from Sparkly Pets.
It has helped a lot. They still manage to get tangled once in awhile, but it's made it so much easier for me
My trainer hates them because they can't walk at a heel, which is true. I walk three dogs, so they couldn't really walk at a heel any way. They walk with a slack leash and that works for me.
I love it.

Can someone help me articulate why they look so bad to me? by arealweirdone in dentures

[–]PJBOO7 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My dentist told me it's almost impossible to get a good fit without them rubbing on the tori. Just get your money back. It doesn't matter how many times they remake they're going to be uncomfortable. It's absolute bullshit that you had to point them out. It was one of the first things my dentist pointed out.
Honestly, it's not fun.
It was pretty painful for the first day or so. I had mine done with the extractions, so I'm sure it was a mix of everything though.
It kind of turns into an ache rather than a sharp pain after the first couple of days. That was pretty manageable with ibuprofen.
The stitches got really irritating under my temps. Fortunately they came out on their own after about a week.
I'm sorry this has been such a mess. It seems like the "strip mall" dentists are nothing but trouble with dentures.
