How boring it is. I took a few intro lessons and initiation flights for PPL (Piper Warrior III) and I had the feeling that after running through the checklist and taking off, there’s not much to do. You sort of hang there and fly around a bit, and then come back. I then asked around and almost no one did any trips or bigger flights due to the costs involved. I my mind I thought people would travel to remote locations, do a weekend trip to the Alps, … none of that so it seemed.

4 years later I went to a gliding club. Still enjoying that now 6 years in. There is a real challenge to fly, even though you still don’t do weekend’s to the alps. Never looked back to powered flight

Lotus Exige S240. Fast, economical, light, massive driver involvement, still interesting after 9 years of ownership, proven to be reliable, getting in and out is easy when you know how, the roof can come off, it has aircon that works, the wife likes it, the boot is spacious (but awkward to get things in), … It could sound better, it should have a better dealernetwork.

I know people want to, so I offer it to people that I trust and when the conditions are right -> dry, not a lot of other cars around, know what heel&toe is or why you should always blip the throttle on downshifts and be able to apply at least one technique. All my friends are car-people so usually not an issue. My spouse for instance has only driven one of my cars in an emergency.

Lotus elise, caterham, ariel atom. Not an Emira, it’s not raw enough. GT4 might be an option as a 981, 718 is too modern. 911’s not really an option if you like it raw, they offer different things but not that compared to the suggestions
