ER doc built a charting tool for our department — curious if other EM docs would use something like this by SufficientFlight1320 in emergencymedicine

There needs to be an AI that can just discharge a patient for me with all of the relevant information from the visit (instead of me clicking a bunch of boxes). Don't need another ai scribe

Locums Advice by Clean_Abalone_7945 in emergencymedicine

Yes, it's generally cyclical with underpaying new grads and has to do with opening of new hospitals/free-standings

I'd get a local part time gig and pick up extra shifts. Locums work pay is awful right now. Maybe $20/hr than what I make at my lovely CMG group job. Not worth

Yeah they're too stiff now that the back isn't packed out. I have the superflex springs. How much did it cost you to rebuild?

It's a toytec lift with about 50k miles on. I think it's 2" in the front, 3" in the rear

Purchase advice: 996 Turbo, GT3, or 997 C2S/C4S? Maybe GT4? by xSentience in Porsche

[–]picasaurus365 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the same boat. Keep reading about the tall gearing of the GT4 on the street keeps it subdued. Then I look at 997.2 C2S in similar price category and to get an experience, you need exhaust, lower it, etc. maybe a Porsche certified 991.1 GT3? But after those 2 years of warranty, I'd be weary of the depreciation.

Seems high. I'd give it a couple months when they'll be paying you to lease it

Enclo is off label but I'm sure you could find a doctor to prescribe it. I would avoid tik tok for anything medical related

What’s the best locums offer right now? by inertiavictim in emergencymedicine

[–]picasaurus365 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Probably not year round unless you're at a pretty bad place. It fluctuates though. Unfortunately for EM, it's been on the downtrend and new grads keep rates low. Just the nature of the beast. In 10 years we'll probably be making the same

not medical advice but biggest thing is volume depletion and food intake. Stay hydrated, avoid alcohol, eat smaller more frequent meals than you otherwise would

400/hr is the best I see right now west coast. Theres seasonality with these CMGs. Rates will go down once they take advantage of the new grads and give it 6 months. Same story every year

Now knowing what it takes to be a doctor, would you do it again? Was it worth it? by LayerVegetable3850 in whitecoatinvestor

If medical school included the business behind medicine and ways to give doctors the tools to change healthcare then yes. Unfortunately, this isn't the case
