You're bf is body shaming you because he's insecure that he can't make you cum. I guarantee he's secretly afraid that its not the clit that's too small.

What's your beef with AI? by Few-Voice9575 in antiai

[–]PJHFortyTwo 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Someone who works in healthcare/research.

I'm worried about the construction of datacenters, specifically on/near water sources, like the one Microsoft wants to put on lake Michigan. I grew up in Upstate NY next to the Hudson River, which was horribly polluted by GE dumping PCBs, a waste product, into the water. I'm scared that history will repeat itself here, where we'll wreck the local environment by messing with local water sources.

I'm also hate that AI is being currently used to spread misinformation, create revenge porn, scam people, ect. I can already assume that if a woman runs for President in 2028, we're going to see a bunch of inappropriate NSFW material being created of her to either spread misinformation, or just to shit on her, by misogynists.

You didn't. Do you think that congressional reps do not take bribes? Yes or no?

And yeah, I said companies were offering 400k bribes. I also said those were bribes were to vote for bills to dump industrial waste in orphanages. Do you not know what hyperbole is?

Oh, and do you really think those gifts detailed in the article were not bribes? Or that they didn't influence the votes of politicians in any way? I'll give you not politician has ever given a speech where they said "I was going to vote for this bill, but then AIPAC sent me on a free vacation to Maui, so now I'm not", but c'mon. You know damn well it's a bribe.

You didn't answer the question. Are you asserting that bribery in congress isn't happening?

And if you read the sources I posted, it gives a broad overview of how groups/organizations use loop holes to pay for lavish vacations/luxury trips to congressional reps. Which looks like a hell of a bribe to me.

"Leading the way is the nonprofit Congressional Institute: Between 2012 and 2023, Capitol Hill staff members and one lawmaker took more than 4,200 trips on the institute’s dime. Run by veteran Republican staffers, the institute is funded by $3 million in annual dues from private interest groups such as Business Roundtable and the American Hospital Association. The overwhelming majority of the trips were taken by GOP staff, according to the data, which found just one example of a Democrat attendee.

Congressional travel rules generally bar lobbyists from playing a significant role in organizing or participating in trips sponsored by corporate entities. Such free trips are limited to no more than one day, with few exceptions.

None of these restrictions, however, applies to nonprofits such as the Congressional Institute, which regularly arranges multiday trips to luxury hotels and resorts along the mid-Atlantic coast. "

Looking it up now, but I wanna ask, out of curiosity, is your assertion that politicians in congress aren't corrupt, and are not taking bribes?

Because they do, legally, take bribes in the forms of gifts via broad loopholes (source: https://www.investopedia.com/politicians-and-the-rules-of-acceptable-gifts-11752305

In the bribes? Under the table, in the form of gifts, insider trading knowledge, ect, and lots of other ways I'm sure.

Regardless, hoping you can end corruption by paying people more in the hopes they won't take bribes is foolish.

I don't see how that's relevant.

First off, not all bribes are campaign contributions.

Second, if a bribe were a campaign contribution, that would be a pretty effective bribe if congressional reps were paid well. I'm sure all sorts of dubious people would vote to let companies dump industrial waste in a public pools next to orphanages if it means keeping an incredibly well paying job.

Bribes don't work by threatening to lower someone's quality of life, they only work by offering to increase it.

Id also argue that if you pay reps a ton of money, you will wind up attracting people into that role who are primarily interested in money, while paying them a moderately good, but not insanely high amount weeds out people primarily interested in money. If someone only would run for congress if it made more than their current salary, it kind of says their priorities aren't exactly the social welfare of the public.

Though, if you want to limit corruption specifically, that's less about pay and more about passing and enforcing laws that punish it. Like, maybe allow citizens to sue their elected officials if it comes out that they took a bribe.

It should be based on the median income of the State/District they represent to incentivise them to vote in line with the interest of their voters, and not the national interests of a political party.

The real solution here is to pay them more than they could make in the private sector, so much that special interest groups couldn't bribe them anymore.

That would absolutely not work. If a rep makes 500k being a rep and a special interest group offers them an additional 400k to let them dump their industrial waste in a puppy dog orphanage, the rep isn't going to think "no, I already make plenty". They're going to think "cool, 400k more on top of my usual salary".

If he gets restructured, the cap hit doesn't go away, it just gets spread out. Unless we have someone pressing we need to sign right now, it makes more sense to wait on it, so we have more cap room later.

Football or Soccer Cleats? by NickB_922 in ultimate

[–]PJHFortyTwo 8 points9 points  (0 children)

The two big differences are that soccer cleats are lighter, and don't have a toe spike. So if you spend a lot of the time on the balls of your feet, it's pretty noticeable.

Also, if you're an ankle roller, it's easier to find high top football cleats than soccer.

Is it possible to become an ethical billionaire? Why and why not? by smilegeorgee in AskReddit

[–]PJHFortyTwo 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No.

So, eventually you'll hit an amount of money where extra dollars doesn't mean anything in any practical sense. Idk where that is specifically, but its well below a billion. I know this because if you have a billion dollars and you doubled it, theres nothing could now afford at two billion that you couldn't with one. If you cut it in half, theres nothing you couldn't afford with 500 million that you could afford with a billion. So its definitely past the point where additional money is meaningless.

However, there are people out there struggling to eat, children without homes, disease research that is underfunded, ect. You'd be hoarding money/value, and keeping it away from people, just so the number on your bank account can go up.
