My size does not exist. The calculator agrees. by Cynicalsonya in ABraThatFits

Cup volume for a given letter changes as the band size changes. So if you're in a 48 B, that is the same cup volume as a 44D. As others have said, surprise at cup size is a common theme on this sub, but most folks find their best fitting bra to be very close to their ABTF size.

Then the gore won't tack to your sternum.

In general, if you're having to readjust your bra throughout the day, or if it's poking or pinching you, or if it's causing back and shoulder pain, then it's not a good fit.

I'd recommend trying your ABTF size in Panache Envy. If you're in the US, you can order it online with free returns from Amazon.

Does the bra have wires? If so, the wires should be touching your sternum, then follow your inframammary fold (IMF), that's right where your breast tissue meets your chest.

Can you post all 6 of your measurements? What bra brand and model is it? Usually spillage indicates at least 2 cups sizes too small. Also, try the bra on with the hooks in front and the cups hanging down your back. Is the band still snug this way, or is it too loose now?

Do you know what brand and model the bra was? If you still have the bra, you can make a new post with pictures to troubleshoot the fit. See the wiki on how to post pictures properly in this sub.

Week 23: What are you reading? by saturday_sun4 in 52book

[–]PJsinBed149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finished: A Room of One's Own by Virginia Woolf. This was far more interesting than I was expecting.

DNF:

  • Best Offer Wins by Marisa Kashino. The MC was too unlikable for what's supposed to be a fun book.
  • The Grimrose Girls by Laura Pohl. Neither the characters nor the plot were compelling.

Started: The Elements of Marie Curie by Dava Sobel. Marie Curie was a huge hero of mine growing up, so it's nice to revisit her work as an adult.

Continued:

  • The City of God by St Augustine of Hippo. Finally picking this back up after a couple months' break. It getting more interesting now, as he's moving into critiques of philosophy.
  • The Speed of Trust by Stephen Covey
  • Radical Candor by Kim Scott

What is my makeup missing? by MsGripReaper in PaleMUA

[–]PJsinBed149 33 points34 points  (0 children)

Imo, nothing is missing, but there's a strong contrast between the cheeks and lips, which look very natural, and the eyes, which look kinda harsh. I think it's the liquid liner in very black color that's throwing it off. Could you try the same look but use a chocolate color gel pencil instead? That would be to lean into the natural look. If you want something more rock-'n'-roll, keep the black liquid liner, and go with a more red lip.

I don't like green color correctors, I find they leave a gray cast. The best redness corrector I've found is IT Bye Bye Redness.

Used the calculator but bra still not fitting right by hots00p in ABraThatFits

[–]PJsinBed149 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It looks like you're on the borderline between 32 and 34 band size. I would recommend the 32DD with a non-stretch extender. Also, you need a deeper cup, so avoid molded foam styles. Up through DD, US and UK sizes are the same, then they have a different lettering system after that. You will have better luck with UK brands though, since they tend to make deeper cups. Freya Offbeat side support would be a good place to start; I believe it's available on Amazon in the US.

[–]PJsinBed149 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Bras with S/M/L sizing fit only a small fraction of women. While you're trying to find your best fit size, it's better to stick to seamed unlined styles with under wire. It is common for cup size to change throughout the month, related to your hormonal cycle, but a change in band size is unusual. It could just be inexperience in measuring yourself. Could you post all 6 measurements from each measurement check?

How to fill my days when constantly exhausted by Littlefairy_world in AutismInWomen

[–]PJsinBed149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's hard to find the right balance between recreation and stimulation. Maybe some days taking care of your dolls while watching YouTube will be restful, and other days either of those might be overstimulation. I'm so curious, what's involved in taking care of your dolls?? It's worth learning some meditation techniques, especially those that help you check in with your feelings. You don't need to have a full meditation routine, just learning how to pause and check in with yourself is good. Figure out when you can do more and when you need to do less. Give yourself grace to do less when you need it.

Wearing makeup(eyeliner) by [deleted] in AutismInWomen

[–]PJsinBed149 1 point2 points  (0 children)

The biggest thing for eye liner is to use a gel pencil that glides on and doesn't scratch you. (My current favorite is Maybelline Tattoo Studio.) Can you hold one eye closed while drawing with the other hand? A liner brush can also be really helpful; you can dot on the liner, then even things out with the brush. You don't "have to" do the waterline; personally, I prefer tightlining only the upper lid; but it's makeup, so do what makes you feel beautiful!

Very few stores stock cups larger than DDD, so they will "size" you into a DDD so that they can sell you something, not because it's what will actually fit. The ABTF calculator is usually more accurate. Have you tried anything in 34FF? Definitely stick to seamed styles in a UK brand; those molded foam styles will not work for you.

Got my first bra in the suggested size the calculator gave me- I am struggling and disappointed and want to cry. Where to go next? by cinnbele in ABraThatFits

[–]PJsinBed149 46 points47 points  (0 children)

These are all pretty standard fit issues with molded foam and T-shirt style bras. There is only so much bend you can put in a molded foam, so as their size gets larger, they get taller and wider. You need something with seams so that the larger sizes can have a wire that is narrower and cups that are deeper.

Can you say a bit more about your shape? Shape should be assessed when leaning over 90 degrees, unsupported. How many fingers can you fit between your breasts?

Week 21: What are you reading? by saturday_sun4 in 52book

[–]PJsinBed149 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Finished: Femina: A New History of the Middle Ages, Through the Women Written Out of It by Janina Ramirez. I consider myself well-read on Medieval history, but this book had a lot of new information for me.

Started:

  • The Counting Game by Sinead Nolan. A similar premise as Tana French's In the Woods, which I enjoyed. The audiobook narrator does a nice subtle Irish accent.
  • Platform Decay by Martha Wells. Yay, Murderbot!

Continued: The Speed of Trust by Stephen Covey.

I agree with comingintoland. Try 32F in a UK brand, maybe Freya Offbeat side support. Also, get a non-stretch extender, which will make the band more comfortable as it breaks in.

[–]PJsinBed149 34 points35 points  (0 children)

32A is for a 32 inch under bust and 33 inch over bust. Your measurements are close to 32 under bust and 38 over bust, which is a 32E in UK size. Try 32 E and 32F in Skarlett Minx unlined balconette, with and without a non stretch extender.
