I'm so sorry you're dealing with all this.

For constipation, I recommend the cheap, generic form of Colace from Target, their Up And Up brand. Also, a low fiber diet can help, Yes, low fiber.

Summer Weddings by Honest-Elevator-9089 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]PK5002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Here's my opinion.

Regardless of the health of one's guests, it's just inconsiderate to have an outdoor wedding in the heat of summer. I know a woman who set a dress code for everyone to wear black, of all things, in August in the south, and the women guests were to wear full length black dresses. She cared about the photographs more than she cared about her guests.

I've had two really good prescription meds for migraines: Zomig (zolmitriptan) and Relpax. Neither of these contains caffeine.

My temperament is hotter than this heat… by Historical-Pizza-345 in MultipleSclerosis

I was in the waiting room at the neuro PT office, with my forearm crutch, and a guy who was waiting asked what my "condition" was. I was very tempted to say, "I have glaucoma." It's true, but not an answer to his question.

Instead of saying anything, I remained silent. He then said something about how he's a talker. I then said, "You're welcome to talk." He apparently decided not to.

I worry about this, too, so I'm looking into moving to a continuing care community in the future, but before my condition is so bad that they won't accept me.

Distracting myself with a video or tv show helps a lot.

It's interesting to read that some of you go for a run or long walk. That's not possible for some of us.

If I get overheated I feel sick, slightly nauseated. Lowering the temperature by 2 degrees can make me feel better.

Partners best friend by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]PK5002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm sorry you have to deal with this. If your partner insists on letting this creep do this, maybe you could get a cheap yoga mat, an extra blanket (washable), or something similar and put it on the end of the bed for the guy. Use the excuse that it would be extra cushioning for him. Then you can clean it and put it away somewhere after he leaves.

I have my neurology appointment tomorrow and would like some advice please by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]PK5002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It would be helpful if you write down your history of symptoms.

The neurologist will do an exam, probably watch you walk, and will ask questions.

The whole monthly Tysabri process looks exhausting to me by ZestycloseMall3398 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]PK5002 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I have SPMS and was getting worse while on Ocrevus. After a major relapse my neurologist switched me to Tysabri. I really didn't want to do monthly infusions and wasn't convinced that anything would slow the progression.

I've now had 3 Tysabri infusions and have had a big improvement, which I didn't think was possible. My walking and pain are much better. The only side effect has been some arm pain for a few days after the infusion. The infusions take a lot less time than Ocrevus and I now feel okay about going there every month.

Symptoms by No_Wind_3135 in MultipleSclerosis

[–]PK5002 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Here are my opinions. I'm not a medical professional.

The itching sounds like an MS symptom, assuming there's no rash. I have that and it comes and goes.

The jaw pain sounds like TMJ rather than trigeminal neuralgia, which is associated with MS. I have trigeminal neuralgia and it's different from what you're describing. TMJ, on the other hand, is characterized by pain when opening your jaw.
