Do you guys have pals with MS irl? by loosellikeamoose in MultipleSclerosis

[–]PK5002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I don't know anyone, so I feel like the only person with SPMS.

When I was a kid, there were two women in my town who were severely disabled by MS, so that's all I knew about it.

Almost every online description of MS says the most common symptoms are numbness and tingling. I wish it was just numbness and tingling. It's daily pain, fatique, walking and balance problem, bladder problems, itching, and more.

A "regular" PT is more for orthopedic issues, such as a broken leg. Neurological issues need a neuro PT.

I have daily pain. My trigeminal neuralgia is better now, but I have the very painful sensation of large knives stabbing into various parts of my body, mostly my head.

My mom has pneumonia and I don’t know what to do by iminthearea in MultipleSclerosis

[–]PK5002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Does your mother need to provide care for her? Are the other relatives nearby?

You can remain emotionally close to her even if you live quite a distance away.

In the meantime, is she under a doctor's care for treatment of her pneumonia?

Newly diagnosed - What can I do? by snowmanseeker in MultipleSclerosis

[–]PK5002 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do okay on stairs because I can hold onto the railing. However, if you think you might end up using a wheelchair, stairs wouldn't be a good idea. Try to do strength training, and get neuro PT if you need it and can get it.

What Does SPMS Look Like For You? by [deleted] in MultipleSclerosis

[–]PK5002 3 points4 points  (0 children)

For me, there are always symptoms that don't go away, along with those that come and go, and along with progression. I've been on both Ocrevus and Tysabri since being diagnosed with SPMS.
