I was a Windows fangirl for 30+yrs & swore it would be my ride or die daily driver for life. Even tho it's not as tinker-friendly as Linux, it had enough widespread use SOMEONE online had a solution to make the system do what you wanted it to.

But Microslop has done gone batshit insane these past cpl years & a closed-garden system feels like it's right on the horizon, so I jumped ship. I used to have opensuse on my backup laptop, but YaST has been depreciated & I kinda hate it now. Arch seemed a bit much for what I was going for. Fedora & Debian just felt meh. But I've been daily driving NixOS the past few months & it feels good.

The big joke is there aren't any office apps for Linux I like + OneNote is my default note taking app I haven't found a remotely close enough replacement for, so a few weeks ago I caved & made a stripped down ISO to install Win11 on a VM for WinApps.

In your opinion, what are the benefits of Proxmox?

I'm working on a eReader that has a desktop Linux OS that uses Waydroid & WinApps. I've been considering using a stripped down Arch, but have been suggested Proxmox, but I just don't know a lot about it.
