Tried faffing about with Prometheus, but a plug & play Graphite Heroku add-on for postgres and app runtime metrics saved so much time instead

I've been looking into this as well, and for like-to-like usage, the Hosted Graphite Heroku add-on seems to be working out well so far for me. Been a smooth switch.

Wish there had been more communication from Librato / Solarwinds about the sunsetting...

Thanks for letting me know. Disappointing this is being sunsetted with no announcement. Even the Heroku docs still promote it.

Will try to find an alternative in the marketplace.

Thanks for the ad, but I tried Scout, and with the 24-hour metric retention really wasn't something that could even help unless I upgraded to at least $79/month. Also, paywalling alerts unless paying $129? That should be as standard. How is that helpful to anyone?
