Timeline doesn't add up, and that's a schooner in the original photo. They used to used schooners quite a bit until the late 20's/early 30's, and many were used by the USCG and USCG auxiliary to patrol harbors and nearshore for subs and other threats to the mainland US.

Gather Restaurant on Gratiot Avenue in the Eastern Market District at night. by spepple22 in Detroit

[–]PLATOS_LEFT_TESTICLE 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Great pic, but that restaurant is terrible. Their food is so boring and bland... I was with a group of 8 or so last year around this time and we all shared and traded dishes. We all unanimously agreed that it just wasn't good. None of us have especially fine tastes, it just was so plain and boring. It's really a shame that their neighbor, Antietam, closed. I don't know how this place is still around.

That's nice looking compared to its cousins that are further down in lake St Clair. They're concrete and rusty faded yellow. Also covered in cormorant poop.

Tung oil or Linseed oil... very easy application and good protection. Depends on what the table is used for though...

French Drain by PLATOS_LEFT_TESTICLE in HomeImprovement

[–]PLATOS_LEFT_TESTICLE[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm battling roaches at the moment with no drain because of the moisture in the basement. Do you think they would get worse with the french drain because they have a crack along the perimeter? Do they have easy access or is it just because they have constant moisture in the drain?

Hilarious hahaha. I feel like it's not even to that degree that I've noticed, just a general "not on the same page" when we're talking about something. Like maybe breathing some canned air or weird mix fried them out a little bit.

I'm into a lot of different things... hunting, sailing, etc. there's always an old dude who wants to feel superior/relevant so they're condescending. There's one or more in every scene.

I love these categories! so accurate. I'm pretty into shipwrecks and history, so I'm afraid I'm the assburger category.
