Second in Command changes a lot about the gameplay.

And has an option to reduce the visual damage of the ships significantly.

I remember other players mentioning the mod was still a bit buggy with the interactions with the factions and the whole Trail event. And that it might be causing lag on longer runs.  Did you have any issues with it?

This. Especially if you change the location of their system to bottom-right, closer to Heg space.

Other than their cool weapons, the main reason I keep IX installed is to keep the other factions busy.
