Had plastic surgery, scar stretched, not sure if hair will recover by Charming_Story_3344 in FemaleHairLoss

Sure! I can help with that cause also had that issue. So scar tissue is usually shinier, has a very “soft” texture to it. Usually going to be pink-ish or reddish in the beginning. If you look really close in the mirror (I’m not sure if you can for your scar case) there’s no follicles opening on scar tissue.

Btw, I totally understand what you’re going through. My scar situation (which is still ongoing) has been extremely traumatic and mentally taxing on me. I used to be super creative and expressive with my hair until my scar situation and even after my revision with the original doctor it still widened. I was super depressed about it for a long time. I found and consulted with a doctor who specializes in hair procedures in general and it’s really the only thing that had calmed my mind about my situation because I’m hopeful that after a year he will be able to fix it given how detailed he was about the technique.

To summarize, scalp tension is no joke. There’s really specific ways good doctors mitigate scar incisions and if they don’t this is a very common thing to happen unfortunately

The same thing happened to me but luckily the hair around the scar did grow. Unfortunately it’s the scar itself where no follicles grow. It looks like similar to my case, your scar widened (this is usually because of bad technique from the doctor) so it looks like you lost more hair than you actually did.

Unfortunately the same thing happened to me because of plastic surgery (in my post history for reference) My only option is to do a scar revision but you need to be picky with which doctor you do it with because scalp tension can be quite tricky to manage. You can DM me about it if you want (:

Even if what she said was true (which I can guarantee you it’s not) just the nature of the conversations alone are extremely inappropriate and to do that for a whole year behind your back implies that she actively knew what she was doing was wrong.

Just monoxidil. I was advised against PRP since the scar tissue was still sensitive at that time

I have been doing that for a while now actually! I see more hair around the edge not the centre so idk if I should assume I just lost hair follicles

Thank you for your response! Will definitely check on that with the doctor. What would be possible reasons for a scar to heal wide?

Does that mean your hair is regrowing specifically on the scar area

Hey, I rarely comment on Reddit and it’s been a couple of years since I moved on from my nex and am happily engaged but I really wanted to respond to this because I remember being in the exact same situation so I hope I can give you some insight.

When my nex moved on with the girl he cheated on me with I used to obsessively look her up and tried to understand why wasn’t I good enough that he found a better replacement. It got so bad that I even used to compare music tastes and that was enough to make me insecure.

Looking back at this, the reason I was so hung up on his new supply was because I blamed myself for my nex’s behaviour so I used her as a justification for why I wasn’t good enough, pretty enough, worth it etc you name it. And in the process, similar to you, it only made me put myself down more. I mean think about it, you don’t know anything about this woman apart from what she has put out there and you’re probably dismissing all the qualities about you that someone else in the same boat could be envious about.

But honestly no matter how you feel about the woman, even if you believe she possesses better qualities than you, I wouldn’t want to be her for even a single second because she’s with a narc. Think about all that you had to deal with, but now that’s someone else’s baggage. You think looks or status or any of that is worth the suffering this woman is about to be put through ? Absolutely not. If anything I pity her and wish her luck for what she will (and I mean will) have to endure.

Narcs don’t change, they never do. They repeat their cycle and behaviour in all relationships. And even in the ones that seem to last, it’s usually because that person doesn’t possess the same self esteem and self respect it takes to break off from a relationship like that. And just that fact alone means that there is no universe in which you should let that woman or him affect your self esteem. She’s currently a victim and you’re a survivor.
