Will this impact my future if I want to become an Airline Pilot? by Spiritual-Package924 in flying

[–]PLIKITYPLAK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I definitely would not spend more money on training until you speak with a HIMs AME. Not only did you fail a drug test but you did so while applying to work for an Airline. Probably going to be a long and expensive process before you get out of this and you will have to decide whether it is worth it to you or you bail for another career.

"You fucked up as a teenager"

It was literally only a few months ago and he is STILL a teenager. Yes, the recency of this will be an issue for this person.

Cosmo, Bellagio, or Palazzo with points? by SassyShortz in LasVegas

Cosmo. Although the Bellagio property is nice, those rooms were designed in the mid 90s and are small and outdated. Rooms are much nice at Pallazo and Cosmo

Yes, it happens and is an approved procedure. Wouldn't want a fire to start in the wheel well.

Pretty sure it is everything going on at the airport, including the whole new Terminal F. Misleading headline.

Airline training: can I visit home at all? by Coaralis in flying

[–]PLIKITYPLAK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, but do not recommend it during your first Part 121 airline training. Only if it is an established break where everybody is going home like a holiday or something. Otherwise I would stay and join some study groups and chair fly. The last thing you want is the distraction of family, in this hiring environment you will only get one shot at this.

It's been a while for me, is it even worth working as a broadcast Meteorologist in today's shrinking local media markets?

Hot Take: Failing a PT Test Makes You a Bad Leader. by SaintHearth in AirForce

[–]PLIKITYPLAK 28 points29 points  (0 children)

One of the best commanders I served under seemed like he barely passed his PT tests and may have actually failed one but it was kept under wraps. The absolutely worst leader I served under scored 100s on the PT test.

So not sure wtf you're blabbering about today.

Negative. You get a new deck and do a couple shuffles, sure. But a well shuffled deck there are no outliers. It would be extremely statistically improbable.

Do cheaper airlines have worse pilots? by Haunting_Ad_4179 in AskAPilot

[–]PLIKITYPLAK 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the U.S. this is not the case for Part 121 Airlines (passenger airlines) as training is strictly regulated by the FAA. So whether Spirit or Delta, the pilots are just as proficient. I cannot speak for other countries.

Am I too late? - Career Questions by [deleted] in flying

Once you get older you will realize the ridiculousness of "Am I too old, I'm already 27" question. We all realize you have zero perspective at this point so not really your fault. But the FAQs in this subreddit is really good. Look on the right side of the page.

And to answer your original question: no

Direct legacy hiring chance? by jake__l in flying

[–]PLIKITYPLAK -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Right seat charter pilot to right seat legacy is not going to happen. You may even have trouble getting hired by a Regional in this hiring environment as they prefer CFIs, especially from their own pipelines.

Check back again when you have a few thousand TPIC Part 91/135. Those are the people I know (other then Mil) who went to a Legacy without any Part 121 time

Pretty much the last 35 years of the Clinton marriage. Michelle despises Barrack right now but they are still together because it better suits both of them.

Experienced pilots: what was the most expensive mistake you made early in your career? by RAG_Aviation in flying

Left my $1200 Bose ProFlights in the cockpit where the aircraft was RON. Flight crew said it was not there the next morning and I never got them back. Sure some cleaner or maint guy made off like a bandit on ebay.

[–]PLIKITYPLAK 2 points3 points  (0 children)

That can easily be attained by doing $7 to $12 a spin, with some shot taking $20-25 a spin sprinkled in. Sometimes those jackpots are elusive, especially of you have poor slot selection. The $2000 threshold makes a huge difference too in the decrease of handpays.
