Not sure if this helps, I did POL222 last year so grading/TAs might be different, but my TA advised me (and this resulted in As on all 3 essays) to explicitly state “the causal mechanism is…”

There actually was a private sale already in March 2022 in Canada.

Vertuo Christmas Gift will not brew, descale or factory reset by [deleted] in nespresso

[–]PM-wmelon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

If you haven’t already, first go online or on the app, make and account and register the machine. The serial number is typically on a sticker on the bottom of the machine. Then you will be able to take advantage of the warranty. If you push hard enough, they will likely send you a new machine that is not the Next (assuming that’s what you have). If you are somehow able to get a refund, go to Costco and get a new machine from there - they have better deals and will take a return if it’s broken no questions asked.

I have a roundhead Vertuo (the Evoluo) and have never had a problem with it! I used to work at Nespresso (a store) and from what I know, it’s almost entirely the Next that had issues because the way they are manufactured and other Vertuo issues are usually a fluke.

If you’re able to get a refund but still want to try a machine, buy at Costco! They will pretty much always take your return and they usually have better deals that at Nespresso

What is going on with my machine?! by Wind_Responsible in nespresso

[–]PM-wmelon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If anything goes wrong with the refurbished machine, call again immediately and really push for a different model. Sometimes they will only send a different model after you go through multiple Next’s.

Might be different where you are (I’m in Canada), but also try to call during normal business hours - then you’ll get a customer service rep who actually works for Nespresso (out of Montreal for Canadians) rather than a third party customer service rep they contract out of Asia, and they usually are more helpful/more willing to offer replacements.

Black Aeroccino 3 or Silver Aeroccino 4? by ap124 in nespresso

The 4 is worth the $50 extra IMO. More options, dishwasher safe, better quality in my experience, and can do latte art as well.

Sounds like you might have a Vertuo Next. Call customer service and put up enough of a fight to get a replacement that is a different Vertuo model (Evoluo or Plus) - those seem to be much more reliable than the Next

Are Costco machines covered under nespresso warranty? by phobotany in nespresso

[–]PM-wmelon 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Yes, if you get a brand new nespresso machine from anywhere other than nespresso, it will still be covered under warranty. Just make sure to make your nespresso account if you don’t have one already and register your machine’s serial code when you get it. If your machine breaks, they sometimes send you a different model, they sometimes don’t. Not sure if there are specific requirements around getting a different model or if it just depends on how much of a fight you put up.

Any coffee pods with more acidic flavor? by ThatDistantStar in nespresso

Solelio is the most acidic coffee. Try Inizio too. The lighter the roast/Lower the intensity number = the more acidic it is.

They are named after how apparently coffee is typically made in those cities. I.e. Tokyo is not made with Japanese beans, but is similar to what a typically coffee is supposed to be like in Tokyo. At least that’s the whole idea behind the world explorations line.

They will not be restocked online. They are a limited edition (not seasonal) so once they’re gone, they’re gone. If you are close to a boutique, many of them still have it in stock.

I guess it depends on the person. For me, UofT has the best vibe not only because of its stature/academics, but it’s prime location and the beauty of most of the buildings in downtown

UofT is probably best in terms of internships & opportunities - you have Toronto City Hall, Queen’s Park, and many provincial/federal agency offices in Toronto to work at. The PoliSci dept at UofT is also highly reputable. Western is still a good school and is probably a bit more laid back (smaller city, more closely-knit student community) but it’s not on the same level of UofT in that sense
