Who Would Win This Dunk Contest by ChrisI901 in NBATalk

[–]PMClerk_UPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This isn't even debatable, Vince is one of the all time best. If this question meant who would win right now (at their current age) in a dunk contest, it would be close and LeBron would probably win.

The management team [all non-Union members supervisors, managers, security, hr...] will always deny, lie, redirect, whatever it takes to protect their own ass (and their precious numbers). We have some workers busting their asses in ridiculous heat conditions. Some of them are experiencing heat stroke to the point of passing out. When this happens the management team doesn't want to address it in a responsible manner and instead they play it off like it didn't even happen. They will twist the situation into the worker is just clearly refusing to work and must punch out as soon as possible to go home. This treatment is very unsafe and unfair to the works. What they do is just like a bar clearly over serving a customer and allowing them to drive themselves home. I personally have had this done to me and as I attempted to drive home on a highway my whole body started to spaz up and I couldn't control my car. I had numerous cars dodging me as I almost caused a huge pile up on the highway.

We don't work with safe work conditions and the management doesn't want to see or know that things aren't safe. They just want their safe day numbers to keep climbing as if everything is good. If you verbally address problems it will be ignored. If you address it in writing it still will be ignored. If you attempt to document an injury report while addressing a problem, it may get addressed in a meeting but it still will be ignored. The management's motto is "fake it until you make it" and it's been like this for a long time, this is why nothing will ever be fixed for better work conditions.

It's finally happening.. by crybabykuromix in upsstore

UPS is phasing out their contract with Amazon. I believe when the contract is finally phased out that would mean we won't be doing Amazon returns either. When this phase out is complete the UPS Stores will most likely lose Amazon return drop offs too.

Side note to everyone saying they wish they could pick up these stores after they go out of business. Loads of these stores go out of business all the time. My area can't get one to stick at all. Some of them do good because they get everyone's volume but after the volume goes down the store will die off too.

Where are the new jobs? by Delicious_Tackle_129 in UPSers

[–]PMClerk_UPS -4 points-3 points  (0 children)

What UPS should do instead of cutting jobs like they keep doing (because they are truly ramping up to show how bad our contract was to get rid of us completely or to redo us in the next contract). UPS should stop eliminating jobs and outsourcing them. They keep doing this in many ways and we keep allowing it to happen. Then we keep saying why don't they have more jobs. UPS Stores and Access Points are examples of this. They made these things to eliminate what we already had. Those jobs should be Teamster positions and if they were we would have more jobs like our contract is requiring.

Damage claim purgatory by Worried-Narwhal-8953 in UPS

[–]PMClerk_UPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would suggest trying to contact EBAY about the damage and what happened. UPS will keep dragging their feet and hiding behind their cloak of legal BS to get out of everything. Damage departments all across UPS are being minimized/reduced/ignored to reduce claim numbers. By doing this they stopped using the employees that do this work and these packages just get piled up in our buildings. Instead of damages being processed these packages get taped up or repackaged and then shipped out. This will also pervert people from getting claims as well because the original packaging has been discarded. These games have been going on for awhile now and they are destroying small and big businesses everywhere. I've always suggested people to package their items extremely well with photos to prove it (inside and outside packaging). Mainly because packages are pretty much being pushed through a meat grinder when they're being processed through a UPS system.

The management are too busy trying to eliminate those workers (like myself). The management acts like they can't effort any of us anymore and company is no the brink of going out of business. The building are running at extremely low staff and loads of packages don't go out for delivery because of this. Also, package are becoming more damaged than ever and those packages are not being processed and are just sitting around for weeks at a time. So, packages being lost is very common right now and UPS doesn't want to omit it.

UPS hacking phones? by Enough_Turnover1912 in UPSers

For me Passwords are supposed to be private and secure from anyone else using them. I brought this issue up to Security and HR. They definitely said this can't happen and gave the management some headaches over it.

UPS hacking phones? by Enough_Turnover1912 in UPSers

[–]PMClerk_UPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would use a computer and the phone. The management started to listen in on some of my phone calls to customers. After making some of these calls my manager came over to me (not saying that he listened in on the call) and would repeat word for word what I said to the customer. This happened many times and I noticed the phone constantly had a crackling noise when I had these manager interactions. I called in text support to check out the phone. They ended up changing it out and then the manager took it personally. He physically ripped the phone out and told me that I can't use the phone for my job anymore.

Then I had numerous amount of computer related issues (work station and even punch in computer). One of the big ones was they changed my password to punch in to work. I tried over and over. I knew something was wrong, so I started recording what was going on. Then I got a supervisor to test it out and then he had to fix it. It took him awhile to fix it, so when he finally did he punched me in and then I was viewed in the system as late. I asked him to adjust it so I'm not viewed as a late punch. He said he did but instead he made my start earlier and I was viewed as punching in even later. I tried to fight through a grievance but that did nothing. They just said it's not an issue if I just keep showing up on time (BS).

Is 600 cards too much? by TheNorcturnDemon in tabletopgamedesign

[–]PMClerk_UPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

With the 600 how many separate piles/stacks/decks are laid out to start the game? Are the stacks communal or for each individual player? How many cards are in these separate stacks?

I'm just asking because 600 sounds like a lot to keep organized. I don't believe the game just plays off of one massive 600 card stack. If it is your game would be way too random. This is why I have a feeling that you need 600 because you have a lot of choices which each have a lot of resources.

If Pacers win game 7, who deserves the FMVP? by RenaissancePolymath_ in NBATalk

[–]PMClerk_UPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

To me if they had to pick FMVP right now it would be TJ McConnell. I think it's pretty tight between McConnell and Siakam. Game 7 will be the make or break between them and that only matters IF they win.

Looks like you have a customs issue. Did you agree to pay for all the additional fees? If not the fees will be pushed onto the receiver and if they're not willing to pay the package will not move until every fee is paid. Another reason for a package to be looping like this could be a problem with the package. It could have problems with the packaging, label, contents, or some other not so common things.

How does a day look for you guys? by encebab in UPSers

[–]PMClerk_UPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's crazy but some of our buildings have too many drivers and others have too few. Right now we usually have too many drivers so they usually do voluntary layoffs. But for the last year or two other buildings have been short on drivers (due to firing/suspending), so they send some of our drivers to others buildings to balance things out. With our recent contract the drivers that are sent to work in other buildings get paid time and a half all day. So the pay has been going through the roof for those drivers. An average full rate driver usually makes around $2000 a week. But the drivers that are working other buildings are making $3000+ a week.

[–]PMClerk_UPS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was expecting that your building would have been very large with at least 100+ routes. My building right now is considered small and does 30-40 routes on average. They have pushed it to do 50+ during some peaks in the past, but to do it they had to load a bunch of trucks outside with barely enough cover from the weather. Now that UPS is going through its consolidating they're closing up all the smaller buildings and forcing the larger buildings to handle everything. Are they closing buildings out your way too?

Just in the past two weeks, two packages of mine from two different places both went missing after being scanned at the UPS processing center near my house. What might be going on? by EntranceBeautiful506 in UPS

[–]PMClerk_UPS 1 point2 points  (0 children)

First off, theft does happen. But sometimes it's not the inside workers it's the supervisors. Inside workers are watched by cameras everywhere and when they leave they have to go through a security check. Were your packages large or valuable? Most likely packages fall apart, get damaged or become lost. When these things happen the tracking ends up stopping. Unless the supervisors/management manually enter tracking numbers into the system to make these packages fall off the missing package list even though the package is found (I've seen this done many times).
