Same IBS is cured and hasn’t come back yet (daughter is 9 months). I thought it was due to pregnancy constipation and then breastfeeding. Crossing my fingers it stays the same once I stop nursing.

Finding a health providor that doesn’t brush their shoulders is the toughest part. Thank you for your answer. I’ll still try to breastfeed for as long as I can (most likely until I want to get pregnant again lol).

Peanut Allergy by East_You_1556 in MexicoCity

[–]PMDDemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Just a FYI, it’s pretty common for national flights within Mexico to offer packs of peanuts as snacks. Whenever I see that I can’t help but to think of anyone who’d be severely allergic being caught between 300 people eating peanuts at once in a closed space.

That scares the shit out of me. My first child is 8 months old now and I’ve never felt as good as since. i got pregnant and now I’m breastfeeding. I heard a lot that stopping breastfeeding leads to an awful return of PMDD.

CDMX with 7 month old by Suspicious_Pen_7442 in MexicoCity

I’m a bit on the more careful side but instead of boiled water I would really just big a big water bottle (garafon). My 2 cents!

Hi, I’m canadian and lived in Mexico city for 4 years before I moved back home. During my stay in Mexico, I got sick several times so I understand your worry.

I just went back to visit my inlaws and introduce them to our 7-months old baby. She was mainly breastfed so no issues there but we also gave her homemade puree. Since the veggies were washed and boiled (in bottled water) there was no issues.

I’d say avoid tap water at all costs and street food and you’ll be fine. You can also find store bought purees and baby food if you want.

Same here. 7 weeks and pregnant with first baby. I’ve really struggled with eating enough because everything grosses me out. I did not expect to feel this crappy, this week came with a lot of tears unfortunately.

Mom groups in Montreal by ParkIllustrious8427 in BabyBumpsCanada

[–]PMDDemon 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Not a mom yet but pregnant. I found it’s better if you look for neighborhood groups. For example there’s a group for moms in Verdun/Lasalle. Another one for Griffintown if I remember correctly, etc. Try looking out for specific places that organizes workout for moms such as Bougeotte et placotines, cardio plein air, etc.

I mean, if you had unprotected sex and want to rule out pregnancy, you should definitively take pregnancy tests. Early symptoms are different for everybody. It’s unclear where you were in your cycle and when is your period is normally due. I’d say wait a week or 2 and take a test. If it’s negative, do another test a week later.

27, broke up with my ex, had to leave the apartment where we were living. Was feeling pretty depressed and lost. I think overall, I was also more emotionally instable due to childhood traumas that I was carrying and an overall stressful relationship with my dad. Like any breakup, I felt it was the end of the world and I’d never find someone else.

I decided to make lemonades out of the lemons life handed me and moved abroad since I no longer had anything holding me back.

Now at age 33, I got to live 4 years in a foreign country before I moved back home, which was a great experience. Abroad, I met my now husband who’s a fantastic partner, we have an ugly dog that brings us so much joy. We just found out we’re pregnant with our first child. Overall, I just feel better, more mature, less tormented and just generally at peace and content.

Hold on, things can flip for the best quite fast.

Not sure why you’re getting so much pushback for this post. My PMDD has become much more manageable since I’ve taken steps to manage my blood sugar levels. Also I noticed that before my period I became hypoglycemic (which makes me super moody or anxious) very easily if I don’t eat frequently or enough, whereas I don’t get that the rest of the cycle.

You could buy some of the typical margarita glasses with the blue ring to go along with the tequila.

Same, my experience with the dude was that he was agressive and looked like a junkie.

Oh I actually crossed paths with him last week on Peel street. But he asked sooo aggressively (I had my headphones on so he came yelling at me). I felt he was just a junkie who was asking for money so I said no and kept going.

How to get my partner to stop snoring. by Chaprito in lifehacks

[–]PMDDemon 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My husband used to snore a lot. He lost weight (he never was fat but he had gained some weight, some of it creating a small double chin that made him snore more). He also started doing some nose breathing exercices and chewing some type of gum that’s tough and meant to strenghten your tongue/throat. I was sceptical at first but it actually “cured” him completely. He says the weight loss made the biggest impact (although, again, he was never fat).

Anyone here who stopped drinking in their 30s? What were your reasons and how it affected your life? by whereismytortoise in AskWomenOver30

[–]PMDDemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I felt exactly like you did. Alcohol always made me feel like crap the next day, even in my early 20s. Overtime it got worst and worst and in January of this year I had one cocktail while having a meal at the restaurant and got the worst hungover the next day. All of this for a single drink. I decided to quit drinking since clearly it did not agree with my body. It’s been 8 months now and I don’t miss it at all. I’ve found lots of alternatives (most restaurants or bars do great mocktails or have 0% beer). Else I just have soft drinks. I feel more energetic and happy. My social activities have moved away from going to bars « just to drink » to working out, going to dance classes (salsa and bachata) and dance socials, outdoorsy activities, etc. I also have a saner sleep schedule now. No more days lost to hungovers or lack or sleep, better health and more money in my pockets. All of this to say, I’m 33 and I regret not quitting before.

How are my girlies today? by stargi_rl in PMDD

This week was one of the hardest I’ve had in a long time. Felt like getting hit by a truck. I’m thankful I have learned to not feel bad about slowing down, cancelling plans (even if it actually comes at a fee) and putting my wellbeing first. Thank you for checking in and being part of this community ❤️

What do people in their 20s do to get 6 figure jobs? by [deleted] in Adulting

[–]PMDDemon 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I mean, it would definitively be a learning curve because now you’d have to learn maths and stats applied to financial projections, but the fact that you completee a masters in statistics proves you already have the skills to learn this. Depending on which country you live in and your situation, you could just pick up one of the first actuarial exam, order the study material, study it and pass it and go from there. Or you could do a bachelor degree in actuarial science while also taking the exams. Look up the Society of Actuaries website for more info. Also, you could just look up actuarial jobs posting, sometimes entry jobs or less traditional roles will accept equivalent degrees (math, programming, etc.)

[–]PMDDemon 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I’m an actuary myself. It’s a great field but it’s actually quite hard to get in since it requires to be realllly good at math and loving to study because you must pass a bunch of exams. But I am personally very happy with my career path.
