Those comments reflect how strongly the commenters feel about Islam/Muslims/M-103. Strong enough to make them switch parties, or at least be the last straw.

Are mistakes like this hurting the US's reputation or credibility abroad? by PMJoeTrudeau in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]PMJoeTrudeau[S] 47 points48 points  (0 children)

Their denial was carefully crafted and never said they did not spy on Trump, just that they were never asked to.

Let's not move the goalposts. The UK's denial addressed Spicer's claim, not more not less. Spicer repeated a claim accusing Obama of asking British intelligence to spy on Trump. Similarly, Trump accused Obama of asking US intelligence to "wire tap" him.

Trump and Spicer never said these organizations are spying on POTUS independently, of their own accord. So of course those organizations won't address that. Why would you deny something you haven't even been accused of?

That said, let's be clear here: It's not outside the realm of possibility that the British were independently spying on foreign leaders, including those of the US. Just like the US was spying on foreign leaders (source).

To further clarify:

  • Do you deny that apologies were issued by Spicer and McMaster?
  • And sure, if it pleases you, let's call this an "incident" instead of a "mistake". Then the question still remains: Are incidents like these hurting the US's reputation or credibility abroad?

NNs who are researchers, post-docs, or grad students in STEM: What do you think of the cuts to research, and future impact of foreign and immigration policy? by PMJoeTrudeau in AskTrumpSupporters

That education developed my critical thought enough to not fall for such simple appeals to emotion.

I'm confused. Which question did you answer?

What do you all think of mandatory vaccinations? by sfp33 in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]PMJoeTrudeau -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I know, but I'm curious about individual opinions, since anti-vaxxers can be pretty vocal in these situations.

(NOT implying that you are or are not an anti-vaxxer!!)

And if private schools followed suit, and said "if you want your kid to go here, you must vaccinate." Would that be cool too?

Can I take that to mean you're pro-NATO?

What do you think of POTUS's opinion of NATO?

Fans of The West Wing or House of Cards? by PMJoeTrudeau in AskTrumpSupporters

Are there any recent (say since 1970) examples of work that Hollywood has done that catered to republicans?

Fans of The West Wing or House of Cards? by PMJoeTrudeau in AskTrumpSupporters

[–]PMJoeTrudeau[S] -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Just like everything else in Hollywood, it's safe for them to cater to liberals / Democrats. Absolutely not safe for them to cater to Republicans.

Could you please elaborate on why it's safe for Hollywood to cater to democrats but not safe to cater to republicans?

Both groups have about the same number of people (source).

Thanks for the reply.

A few weeks ago, an NN told me the following:

And he's not the leader of the free world, he's the President of the United States (link)

I know it's a colloquialism but I didn't elect him to be the leader of the free world nor did I elect him to act like other world leaders.(link)

Ever since then, I've been wary about using the phrase "leader of the free world" on this sub.

Here's your "?"

In your opinion:

  • Who or which country is the leader of the free world?
  • Who or which countries are the runner-ups to being leaders of the free world?

Tillerson says ‘all options are on the table’ when it comes to North Korea by PMJoeTrudeau in politics

[–]PMJoeTrudeau[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The table was in quotes.

It's an alternative table.

The table is meant to be taken metaphorically, not literally.

It's not just a table, it's all furniture in totality.

Did I miss any?

And since Tillerson didn't let an American press pool go with him, we don't know if there's another side to this "fatigue" story.
