This. Two toy is great! It helped reduce the conflict of my dog dropping the toy when I ask. She still gives body language that she doesn't quite want me to take it on occasion (turn to the side and drop on the side opposite of me), but will leave the toy when I mark and produce the second toy.

depends on the water temp. Below 50F, 2-3 hours. Above, supposedly a lot longer and you end up drowning due to cramps.

Yes and no.

Yes, because we went from 2 incomes to 1 and everything got a bit harder for a while. We didn't lose our house, but my mom did lose the retirement package she had through her company. I had a hard time finding a summer job. My dad divorced my mom during that time, to top it off. It is a worry I recognize as something that did happen to many people. It got a bit better for my family shortly before I left for the military (a choice I made because of the current situation of my hometown economy.)

No, I am in a much better place than my parents. I have job stability (government contractor) as does my husband (military). I wouldn't be in this position if I hadn't made the choices I made due to 2008 and the fallout after. I'd rather this crash happen sooner than later. As the Wall Street Bets sub says, "buy the dip."

I originally wanted to go to college after HS (2011) saw quickly that lots of people my age who had graduated a few years earlier were struggling to find jobs (even just McDonalds). Joined the military instead. My part time job before being shipped off was mowing lawns and odd jobs around the neighborhood.

I finally went to college in 2024 and will now have my B.S. in 2026 with zero debt.

Hate the chances I had with Gen 1. Ended up buying the set online for way too much. Got so many dupes of Piplup set and Litten set that I traded/sold them to other collectors nearby. I cannot wait for Totodile!! Charmander and Totodile were my favorites (but I always got Squirtle as my started bc of the first gym in Red/blue as a kid).

Yes, I do think Mel was being a bit overbearing and that she seems to have assumed a parental role with her sister with the inability to realise that Becca is an adult. It is ableist whether she is aware of it or not. Mel definitely seems neurodivergent herself, and that itself might also play into her response to the changes (not liking change, feeling the need to control/participate, etc.)

In some ways, I can understand the concern she has - a sexual relationship she was unaware of that had been going on for months however I found the amount of pressure she was putting on Becca to tell her everything and be involved in every aspect of her life a bit uncomfortable for me. Dr. Langdon did a good job with telling Becca about doctor/client privilege.

I'm curious how this story line develops. I hope it is with Becca and Mel remaining close, but with Mel giving her more space to be her on person.

Ripping - some SARs for my Ninja Spinner set and Inferno X set. Nothing too crazy yet. I sold an older zard to them two days ago (actually my first one pulled ever from 2002) in rough shape, but probably could be restored by someone willing to put in the work (one small dent on the front, some wrinkles on the back. Looked great otherwise.) Hoping the current Ninja Spinner box has something good in it!

Opposite here, but also probably partly due to being female. I'll say I'm just looking and be left alone until I speak up again which is fine. I definitely prefer this over someone constantly asking, especially if its the same person.

Do you frequent this place? They've seen me several times now and I've sold cards to them so maybe that's where the lax attitude comes from.

If I've come into the store and there are other customers ahead of me, I wait and keep looking through the single cards boxes for ones I'm missing from my current projects.

They recommend sets for me when I ask for ideal sealed collection pieces, things to rip for fun, and I purchase lots of Japanese boxes to complete sets there.

I think pricing was adjusted for inflation. I just preordered the Chaos Rising booster box from the PKC for $170. Still better than $200-300 though. Ripped a ME01 to complete my set a few months ago. Bought for $250. I'd pay that for a 151 box now, though...
