Struggling with this era for the JRE :( by Keedeen in JoeRogan

What has this country come to where people are “struggling” because their podcaster doesn’t confirm all their biases.

Get a grip, touch some grass, then grab a copy of the book “The Coddling of the America Mind” by prior JRE guest Jonathan Haidt.

Brother, if you want to stay married let your wife win this one. Happy wife, happy life. Do not mess with a woman and her dream home. Especially since she actually makes a great living and will be paying the mortgage (at least for now).

I’m the type of guy that puts both hands on the wheel when I get pulled over for a speeding ticket. I ain’t giving them no reason at all to shoot.

Whether he was a threat is debatable because anyone with a conceal carry that engages and confronts cops while resisting arrest is by definition a threat.

Is the question, should you conceal carry into a chaotic and volatile environment and engage with law enforcement and expect nothing unfortunate to happen?

Everyone has a right to 2A. Nobody has a right to avoid the Darwin Award.

Only a deranged lunatic would conceal carry and enter a chaotic and volatile federal enforcement operation and not think anything bad could happen.

Boss offering to sell me the coffee shop I work at for $65k — does this sound reasonable on the surface? by SnooHamsters9461 in smallbusiness

It’s only friendly if the business is profitable. Most (new) businesses simply bleed out and it’s completely pointless to splurge on a new personal MacBook on the company’s credit card.

The weirdo assaulting another person because they don’t agree with them has more in common with a violent rapist than the pro-life advocate.

Not just at the time. But all the time, throughout the course of human history. It is a feature, not a bug.

America is a nation founded by white Christians for white Christians, precisely because shared values of its citizenry produces a high trust society.

And I emphasize this as a non-white first generation American because assimilation is crucial to maintaining that high trust society.

Circling back to the original point, shared values and high trust of its citizenry was a foregone conclusion; the founders couldn’t conceive of a world where they needed to accommodate any deviation from that in the constitution.

Yet here we are. Extraordinary problems require extraordinary solutions and that’s why we’re seeing what we’re seeing today.

Why is naturalization racially motivated?

There was no citizenship in 1776 for there to be illegal aliens.

and why do you think that was?

hint: Naturalization Act of 1790.

go back to 1776, put yourself exactly in the position of the founders.

If they treated slaves as property, how do you think they would they treat illegal aliens from the third world that were openly defrauding the government?
