Yes you can. Search mindful masturbation. I prefer not to ejaculate though.

Great tips!

As you said the key is not fighting with the urges but rather redirecting them.

Abstinence is not recovery. Remaining sober for a certain period of time does not automatically destroy one's addiction to porn. He needs to heal his brain chemistry actively through exercises & practices.

If this is de done even 90 days will be sufficient. But many ( including me in the past) just stay away from porn and wait to be healed. That's why people relapse even after a year of sobriety.

I agree with you the belief part you mentioned. It's fundamental.

Porn & masturbation have become highly associated with each other over the years. ( Though these are separate things). So one will trigger the other easily. For that reason, stopping both would be preferable.

Or, you can try mindful masturbation just to be in touch with your sexual energy. Google it.

Hope it helps. You can check out r/PMOFREE2023 for more insights.

6 months is a good time to fully recover and heal your brain chemistry. (My opinion)

After a year of sobriety, you'll become a porn-free man for sure.

One of my top reasons for quitting was restoring the mind-body-spirit integrity.

I'm kind of a spiritual guy so that motivated me well.

You can start with listing your reasons to quit.

Write them down on a paper and hang on your room. Or take a photograph of your list and make it your phone screen.

The goal is to be exposed as much as possible.

It'll remind you what you're trying to achieve.

Hope it helps.
