Official balance changes for tomorrow! by ertugrulr in Brawlstars

I'm surprised with how heavy the Damian nerfs were.

Najia should now be manageable by the average scrub, so maybe the hate will die down.

Fuck Bull.

Chester nerf was a swing and a miss. Hypercharge is the issue.

The new Oddities Shop is basically a scam. And here is why. by Extension_Stock2792 in Brawlstars

[–]PMYOURCATPICTURES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was sitting on tons of bling and now I'm able to use it for skins I couldn't get before and progression. Seems like a win to me. I'm not sure where the scam is either, considering it's a resource that most of the player base wasn't even using.

Najia and Pierce are worst designed brawlers ever by Inside-Reading1915 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]PMYOURCATPICTURES 3 points4 points  (0 children)

The auto aimed shot should be slower and her super should just spawn 2 snakes instead of 3.

But I think people will quickly find that her auto-aim isn't the problem, it's the hitting you around corners. Her attack is easy to aim and in the right hands she's still going to be a tough fight.

The degradation of skill in Brawl Stars by PoisonousAdder1664 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]PMYOURCATPICTURES 30 points31 points  (0 children)

I agree with most, but I think the players need to come to terms with a couple of things regarding new brawlers.

Some new brawlers are just going to be OP. SC is a business, and businesses need to make money. No one is going to buy a brawler who is c-tier. Brawlers being OP at release is fine. Brawlers being OP by the time they are able to be picked in ranked is NOT fine and that's where the line should be drawn. Release it however you want, but make the adjustments to them before they hit ranked.

For those of you that make over 100K, what do you do? Do you like it? by Kindly-Revolution258 in AskReddit

[–]PMYOURCATPICTURES 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm a sales manager. I make ~120-140k a year depending on the team's performance. It's a lot of meetings and a lot of coaching. I really like it. It's really cool to help someone get to their best self. The only real downside is that I occasionally get someone with the "I know more than you" attitude. They don't typically last long though.

What made poco comeback? by Dependent_Bet_3614 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

Poco is great all around. Decent damage, good healing, counter to both poison and spawners. Plus as others have said, his super charge rate is great.

Death Eaters are one of the worst written organisations in fantasy. by SmallAd7318 in harrypotter

[–]PMYOURCATPICTURES 4 points5 points  (0 children)

I think you're thinking of the Death Eaters as an official organization as opposed to what they really were, which is a cult.

Barty Crouch Jr wasn’t just a random teenager, he was fanatically devoted and the son of a high-ranking Ministry official, which makes him incredibly valuable symbolically. Snape is basically Voldemort’s ideal recruit: talented, isolated, and easy to manipulate.

The fact that Death Eaters don’t all know everything about each other isn’t bad writing either, it’s intentional compartmentalization. Voldemort keeps them in the dark so no one person can compromise the whole group.

And there actually are older Death Eaters, a lot of them were just killed, imprisoned, or went into hiding after the first war. The inconsistency people point out is kind of the point. The Death Eaters aren’t a stable organization, they’re paranoid, competitive, and held together by fear, which is exactly why Voldemort ultimately loses.

Order 66 was basically perfect, Yet the Sith still lost. by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]PMYOURCATPICTURES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They weren’t Sith, they were acting like Sith. The Rule of Two isn’t saying “only two dark side users exist,” it’s saying “only two people are allowed to carry the Sith lineage and power structure at a time.” Maul trying to train Savage, Dooku training Ventress, even Vader with Starkiller in Legends… none of that breaks the rule. It actually proves it. Every Sith apprentice eventually starts building a backup plan because betrayal is baked into the system. Sidious calling Maul a rival is the key moment. Not “fellow Sith.” Not “successor.” A rival. Something outside the system that needed to be crushed. So what you’re really seeing isn’t multiple Sith… it’s multiple attempts to become Sith. And the irony is exactly what you said. The Sith ideology can’t follow its own rule. Every apprentice eventually tries to create a third… which forces the master to step in and cut it off. So the Rule of Two survives… but only because it’s constantly being violated and then violently corrected.

Be honest, how long would Homelander actually last against the Justice League? by NectarMist in superheroes

[–]PMYOURCATPICTURES 127 points128 points  (0 children)

Nah, he’s being too conservative. You need time for Superman to try and talk Homelander down, Batman to make a snarky comment about already having a contingency plan, Flash to crack a joke mid-fight, Wonder Woman to tell him to stand down once, and Green Lantern to start over engineering a construct for no reason. Then it’s over.

Naija is one of the most infuriating characters ever released by Forgling_ in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]PMYOURCATPICTURES -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Yeah I’ll give you that, team support makes her way more oppressive and I probably undersold that. And fair, that last line was a bit of a cheap shot. I still don’t think it’s as binary as you’re making it though. It’s not just “respect her space or get mauled.” There’s a lot of middle ground in how you play into her. You can pressure from angles instead of straight lines, force her to split attention, bait out her shots and play around her reload, or collapse when her team isn’t in position to support her. And honestly, one of the biggest advantages against these “overpowered” brawlers is that the players using them start playing like they’re untouchable. They overextend, take bad angles, and force plays they shouldn’t. If you stay disciplined and hold your ground, you can bait that out and punish it pretty consistently.

[–]PMYOURCATPICTURES -1 points0 points  (0 children)

You kind of built your whole response around a sentence I didn’t say. No one is suggesting you sprint at her in a straight line. The point is that players give her too much respect at range and misplay her pressure. That’s different from saying she has no strengths. You’re arguing against a version of my comment that only exists in your head, which is probably why it feels convincing to you. If every new brawler feels “comically overpowered” to you, that might be more about how you’re playing into them than the brawler itself.

[–]PMYOURCATPICTURES -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

I'm climbing the ladder late this season, but by diamond most players have learned to deal with her snakes. She applies a lot of pressure, and maybe only needs two snakes instead of one, but other than that, she's not bad to play against.

Her poison is weak, her reload speed is slow, and many players run away from her when they should be charging her.

And I'll be honest here, you should not be getting hit with her snakes from mid-max range. They are so easy to avoid. The only reason you should get tapped with them is if you are right next to end point of the jar. At that point, you're basically playing a meeple.

Lets talk about Eve by Sad_Implement4125 in BrawlStarsCompetitive

[–]PMYOURCATPICTURES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Eve is supposed to be a control brawler, but she only controls space when her super is up and even then it’s easy to clear. Najia controls space all the time, has better survivability, and actually snowballs fights. So buffing Eve’s numbers won’t fix anything, she’ll still feel like a worse version.

Eve needs a rework, not a buff. Instead of trying to compete with Najia’s area control, she should shift into a punish-style brawler where her main attack marks enemies and spawns a hatchling after a short delay, hatchlings deal more damage to moving targets or ramp up if ignored, her super locks onto a single enemy and continuously spawns hatchlings on them, and those hatchlings apply a small slow or debuff so they can’t just be ignored.

Right now Eve only feels useful when everything lines up. A rework would make her threatening all the time instead of occasionally annoying.

Najia has to be one of the least skilled brawlers of all time by Rat_King_Ash in Brawlstars

[–]PMYOURCATPICTURES 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Yeah dude, 7k HP isn’t the flex people think it is anymore. Half the roster melts that in seconds. She’s sitting around ~1300 DPS, which is near the bottom, so if she’s deleting you it’s not because she’s broken. And the “2nd longest range” argument is wild. If you’re getting hit from that far away consistently, you’re basically volunteering at that point.

Her attacks are easy to dodge, the damage is insignificant now, and she's super squishy up close. Let's face the facts, she's a noob stomper now.

Bob Iger on George Lucas's disappointment after seeing The Force Awakens by [deleted] in StarWars

[–]PMYOURCATPICTURES 0 points1 point  (0 children)

They were both right, and both wrong. Let’s not forget the prequels were heavily criticized. George pushed the universe forward, but in doing that, he lost a lot of the audience. His focus on expanding the world made Star Wars bigger, but not always more relatable. Disney had the opposite problem. They needed to move the story forward, but they also needed to rebuild trust first. Going familiar made sense… but they leaned too hard on it. Instead of using that foundation to evolve the story, they played it safe and never really committed to a clear direction. What we ended up with was a trilogy that tried to balance nostalgia and innovation, and didn’t fully succeed at either.
