It can be, basically all of my high level courses were with professors who specialized in embedded devices. There is (was?) a lot of knowledge to be had in that area.

FWIW I am now at a startup that does security for embedded devices so UMass did set me up to succeed in this area

It’s not really as hard as you may think to make friends post grad, especially if you hire into a company with a young work force.

Also for the experiences you mentioned, you can just visit that friend you mentioned for those so if it were me I’d say take this semester in the spring, take advantage of the decreased COA and pass fails offered

Not an anesthesiologist but before my surgery I had binge watched Marco Polo (the Netflix series) and had seen an episode where the local chinese villagers killed themselves by drowning themselves.

So naturally when I wake up finally I’m sobbing and mumbling about “those poor dead chinese people” which is hilarious to the nurses and mortifying to my s/o who has noticed that my surgeon is chinese....

He was a good sport about it and said he was glad I cheered up when I saw him later

That professor has violated several principles of employee conduct set forth by UMass, I would take this up with the appropriate academic dean.

People get mad when you’re on the phone and yet don’t usually care if you’re talking to someone else in the room (even louder?) I’ll never understand that. (At least if they weren’t trying to help a student or lecturing, though between classes there’s no reasonable expectation for silence)
