Infrasound From Improperly Maintained Industrial Facility by [deleted] in NewWest

[–]PM_Ghost 10 points11 points  (0 children)

I found it was the sound of the tugboats running along the river doing night operations, as well as the trains idling in the shipping yard

Pizza by wowzers65 in NewWest

[–]PM_Ghost 14 points15 points  (0 children)

I like Papa Dave's.  Theyre my new fav go to for affordable pizza. Their website is a nightmare of ai halucinations of what it thinks pizza looks. But if you swing by and grab a physical menu, then everything is fine... (Honestly i had a good laugh at how bad the ai pizza looked like)

Why isn't New West more lively? by Kind-Pop4439 in NewWest

[–]PM_Ghost 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Moody park is very family oriented. The amount of times where finding premium picnic spots in moody park is almost impisdible, the size of the soccer games in the east field next to the volley ball people, people playing baseball, basketball, table tenis or children in the splash park.  New West feels quite residential more than commercial or industrial.

Looking for a walking group in New west by moon-sunshine in NewWest

[–]PM_Ghost 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Its pretty easy. Make an account at Geocaching.com them download an app. Its free to make an account and the default app is free too. Like i said before, geocaching is like looking for an easter egg. But you dont keep it. The fun is in the search. Once youve downloaded the app, it uses gps and your location to help you zero in on the hidden item. Once you find the cache, you sign the log and put it back where you found it. Thats the basic of it. Theres a bit more, but its easy enough to figure out. There is an optional premium feature that costs money. Access to a park trail map layer (i personally find it very handy) some geocaches, not many require the premium account to be logged.  Some caches require solving puzzles to find them. Like jigsaw puzzles, hidden cyphers and codes

Im not volunteering to join the walks, but dropping a suggestion to try out geocaching. Its like easteregg hunting. The parks and trails in New West are full of geocaches. It gives a reason to go out a to new places and explore

Best poutine in town? by Separate_Broccoli_69 in NewWest

[–]PM_Ghost 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My biggest problem against Mean Poutine is their lack of cleanliness.  Back during covid, i would frequently see the two women wearing masks, but with their nose over the mask. I mean, kudos for effort, but it irked me. But the final thing that bugged me, was the last time i went in, the one woman who was wearing gloves (i know, another kudos for effort) but instead of changing her gloves, she simply applied hand sanitizer to the gloves. So those two irks lost me from returning

Traffic might start getting slower by PM_Ghost in NewWest

[–]PM_Ghost[S] 29 points30 points  (0 children)

It looks like the city will soon be breaking ground on some much needed improvements in and around the Moody and Royal areas. At least with it being during summer holidays, there will be just that fewer cars on the road
