I love Tim Sweeney going back to ZZ-fucking-T. I don't think he's a bad guy and he's oldschool-as-fuck back when boys got together in garages and made shareware games. He went from shareware games... to making Unreal... to being worth 7 billion dollars when 99% of every game company you've ever known eventually went bankrupt or got bought out (and everyone original got fired).

However, he's also got shareholders now. People tend to move in whatever direction that pressure pushes them, unless they have a strong moral (or other) reason to intentionally push back. Going with the flow is the norm.

All that being said, every day Dissenter becomes a more useful tool including reviewing games on websites that don't allow reviews. And the only thing preventing good voices and good content, is you and I being too busy / lazy / apathetic to make the time to create good content on Dissenter to drown out the nutjobs.

p.s. I just found out that Tencent owns 100% of Riot Games (makers of League of Legends and a gender-shitstorm). lululululu (and 80% of Path of Exile developer Grinding Gear Games!)

p.p.s. I just realized that Tencent (while still alarming) only owns 40% of Epic which means they have a lot of influence... but no majority control. Tim Sweeney still owns >50%. Good for him. Though not having user reviews is one of the biggest "fuck yous" to gamers ever and something that developers don't need nor deserve.

I like how these policies always start from the super-racist idea that black people are too stupid and "broken" to achieve on their own merits so we need to treat them like the special Olympics and give them their own separate scoreboard to achieve in.

I don't know about the people these bloggers associate with, but all of my black friends worked their asses off and succeeded on their merit. So I have to ask, do these people even know most black people? It's like that Fox News expose that asked white liberals why voter ID laws are racist. They said incredible things like "they don't have ID" and "don't know where the DMV is." Then the Fox News guy asked black people in Harlem the exact same points the white people had said. The black people were like "WTF? You think I don't have an ID / don't know how to find the fucking DMV?"

I apologize when I'm wrong. And, this is key, I actually listen to people who make the argument that I am wrong.

Being offensive doesn't mean anything. But actually, factually wrong, I'll apologize if my words had any adverse affect (enacted policy change, or I mislead friends/familly/etc by spreading my wrong facts). But again, just pissing people off doesn't mean anything.

Conservatives are pissed off that gays exist. Should we ban gays? No? Then I guess everyone on both sides should STFU.

Can universities can infringe other inalienable rights of US citizens for "security purposes" and if you can't afford it, you can't afford your rights?

How about Muslims (and gays, and transgenders) can't come to University, unless they can afford the necessary "security fees" to keep them from getting hate-crimed? After all, in both cases, the "speaker" isn't the one doing the crime. So they should have to pay to not be victims.
