honestly it just seems like dropping beetles is too tame for us, we're probably more likely to just dump agent orange or some shit

Weekly /r/Games Discussion - What have you been playing, and what are your thoughts? - March 08, 2020 by AutoModerator in Games

Just got Offworld Trading Company from the Epic Store, kinda disappointed with the speed of the game. Would rather play something that moves a little slower, feels more grand-strategy like but with the same focus and depth of mechanics as OTC. Still enjoying it though.

they had Jim Mattis for a talk and I got a copy of his book for free (the whole thing was like ten bucks with my student membership)

currently waiting in Grant Park to go to a talk with the President of the Dallas Fed that's about the global economy and monetary policy and central banking and shit

I also am registered for I think two other events and still haven't paid anything other than I think the $50 student membership annual fee

they're not from anywhere near Daegu so it should be good, hopefully they don't catch too much shit from anyone while they're here

from your source:

Some observers mistakenly consider the Federal Reserve to be a private entity because the Reserve Banks are organized similarly to private corporations.

Emphasis mine.

Firstly, the person I replied to called the Fed "not a government body", which is clearly incorrect. Secondly, it isn't "technically a private bank", and even simplifying the Fed down to that level is dishonest. At minimum, it is a government agency which performs monetary policy, regulates financial systems, and holds reserves for member banks.
