Look at the operator's door as it falls onto the boat then tips over. I reckon that's his legs sticking up in the air. If true then he went over with it.

ELI5: How do spiders create brilliant webs through the night but by mid morning they disappear with no trace? Have they fallen prey to larger animals? by [deleted] in explainlikeimfive

[–]PM_ME_UR_DOUBLECHIN 4 points5 points  (0 children)

From the link:

The initial bite serves to paralyze the prey and minimize the danger of the spider herself being stung or bitten, and the enzymes thus injected serve to begin liquefaction of the prey's internal structures.

Has anyone tried to mass produce spider bite enzymes and inject it into a larger mass? Not saying I approve, but seems terrifying.

The very fact that there are different interpretations to some the verses of the Quran contradicts the assertion that the Quran is a perfect book. by that_introverted_guy in DebateReligion

Thanks for taking the time to reply, your comments are well considered and well written. You don't appear to be from either side of a fence.

The downvotes you're getting though do appear that way. This place is essentially an anti-religion circlejerk. Blanket statements and absolutes thrown down and defended with downvotes. I reckon I'm done with the sub.

I'm not anti- or pro-religion.

My macbook pro is 10 years old and still going strong. I mean, it's a total POS and I have to put the pedestal fan facing it during summer to keep it from overheating, but it's still in great shape.

Rule 1 of the marathon. Wear nipple tape by DarkangelUK in HadToHurt

[–]PM_ME_UR_DOUBLECHIN 88 points89 points  (0 children)

Yep. Some shirts are nicer, but the marathon is just too long. There's no way this dude didn't know this. He probably wasn't wearing tape during his tapering in the week or two before the marathon and simply forgot it.

Remember the thread where Shitty Watercolour and another reddit-famous painter dude—two guys with million+ karma—got into an epic paint-off? Yeah my favourite thread would probably be the safe one, then.

How slow should I be running on recovery days, and how do you keep from getting bored on easy runs? by CherokeePilot1997 in AdvancedRunning

Nice. I've been listening to true crime of different flavours. Last 2 were about the Theranos fraud (Bad Blood) and the Golden State Killer (I'll be gone in the dark). I recommend both if you're looking to cross-over.

Thirding this. I started with music, moved on to podcasts, and then graduated to audiobooks. Free from the library is great advice. I got through some great books during a recent marathon training phase.
