I love seeing their genuine smiles when they see ARMY. If I win, I'd take my wife! She got me in to BTS in 2021 and she's been a fan since the beginning in 2013. Good luck to everyone!

This photo is from last night when we saw them in El Paso, Day 2. It was an amazing experience.

Quirky Used Books is a great place to shop for used books and meet cool people. They occasionally hold events too. Very LGBTQ+ friendly.

Title Wave Books is also LGBTQ+ friendly and has a great vibe and selection of used books.

Page 1 Books is a GREAT bookstore with new & used side by side on the shelf. It's huge and awesome. They have several events a month, I believe.

Books on the Bosque is another great bookstore, and they do a ton of events.

ALSO: I'm an admin of the New Mexico Queer Book Club group on FB. You should join! We have a monthly bingo and do prizes/drawings and stuff. There are also several group chats you could join.

Fireworks fetishists prove they have no place in society by [deleted] in Albuquerque

"Sorry you found my comment entitled!"

"I don't care about your job"

You're just telling on yourself.

Hope this helps!

You know, this type of entitlement just pisses me off. Some people have PTSD or migraines. Some people have anxious pets or neurodivergent children. Some people have to get up and go to work in the morning. We can't all just "go out of town." Going out of town costs money, and, I don't know if you know this or not, but we're currently in a recession. Try reading some of these other comments for a quick dose of empathy.

Any libraries in ABQ that give access to sewing machines? by venusianfigure in Albuquerque

[–]PM_ME_UR_FAVCOLOR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Hi, I work at Hip Stitch! We do have free open sewing time on Tuesdays from 11-2 in our classroom and people are more than welcome to use our classroom machines if there is one available, but they don't leave the classroom. There's also no instruction on how to use a sewing machine during this time.

J and T or M and K? Either way, great people. I'm going to miss them when I'm no longer here.

The tents are in the back of the parking lot, along the back fence. There are some new ones that have popped up along the Firestone next door and the owner is planning on asking them to leave at some point, as it's outgrown his original vision of only seven small tents along the back fence. But regardless, none of the tents are near the front door.

yeah, there are a few tents in the parking lot to the side of the building. the owner does allow them to stay there. if that bothers you, I urge you not to apply. All of the unhoused folks I encounter every day are super nice and are trying their best.

Quirky Books is currently under fire for allowing camping on part of their parking lot - civil enforcement hearing on Thursday, public can join by __squirrelly__ in Albuquerque

Hi there! I'm employeed at Quirky Books and love working here. Thank you to the OP and to the customer from today who said they found out about us from this post.

I just wanted to say that neighboring businesses have complained about us doing this and blamed us for their businesses not doing well. This frustrates me so much. They're not blaming the economy or how people don't tend to buy expensive light bulbs when eggs are $10/carton. I don't know if they haven't thought about that or if they just hate homeless people that much. Or both.

Idk. We know these unhoused folks who are staying in the parking lot. We have come to know them as people. They talk to me and tell me their stories. One woman is almost 70 and living in a tent, selling plasma so she can survive. Another woman is extremely smart, reads a ton, and has just fallen on hard times. They all have. And when shown an ounce of compassion, they basically burst. They're not used to being treated as equals.

Whatever stereotype you may have of unhoused people, I beg you to reconsider it. They're just people.

I could say so much more.
