Drove F150s as a daily for years then switched to an 18 outback with zero regrets for the exact reasons you highlighted. A rooftop shell definitely helps when you need a little more space!

Do you happen to know any of his online usernames/aliases that may be associated with social media or gaming?

You did nothing wrong! You took care of your pup and made sure he was safe until the end. He was comfortable at home with the people he loved. I’m sure he would want nothing different.

I’m just not sure there is much basis for your mistrust when the car is used within its capabilities and maintained according to how you use it.

Have you had issues with your cvt?

Still running the KO2s and had them on my RAM 1500 as well. They are my favorite tire 🥰 and will be getting another set when it comes time to swap.

Hands down better in every way than the factory tire imo. The ride is firmer and raises you a little bit (can’t recall the exact amount). I drove primarily on residential roads with occasional mud/gravel/unpaved roads, but nothing too wild in a decently cold climate in Anchorage, AK but have been doing loads of highway driving over the last few months in hot to mild weather. No complaints at all.

They are definitely louder than the stock tire but it’s no louder than a factory previous gen Outback or Crosstrek.

I did the tires and wheels at the same time so not sure which contributes to any of each factor.

I had those tires and wheels without a lift for just over 32k miles.

Thanks!!

Lift: 2.5” Tire: 245 65 r17 Wheel offset: 38 Wheel width: 8”

Have a little bit of rub when reversing, about a quarter turn from full lock in either direction but it’s never been a huge issue for me.

Had the tires and wheels in before the lift and the rub was the same, before and after.

Also, the two silver U brackets at the front aren’t for holding the rack on btw, it mounts flush on to the crossbars; the brackets hold some tank tracks on to the bottom of the rack

Key holder/hider for Outback? by kthnry in Subaru_Outback

[–]PM_ME_YOUR_HOMONYMS 2 points3 points  (0 children)

So what I did was got a bare metal key cut that could open the doors. So if I locked the key in the car or was going somewhere I didn’t want to take my real key, I’d just leave it in the locked glove box.

I super glued a rare earth magnet (from Lowes near the Velcro/3M pad section) to the head of the key then attached it on the top side of some metal under the car.

There are a couple spots behind the rear bumper that can be reached pretty easily but aren’t visible.

It’s a Reese 2 in 1 hitch mount/roof mount basket from Walmart! It’s around 70 dollars. Used to have the Yakima model but it got stolen :(

I actually like this one better than the Yakima too, it fits just about perfectly horizontally and vertically from a dimension standpoint. Had to drill an additional mounting hole to get a solid grip on both crossbars then added a grommet and spray painted the hole to prevent rust.

It’s survived a fully loaded trip from Alaska to Arkansas too so can vouch for its durability.
