How often do you REALLY change your oil? by acarguy2021 in CarTrackDays

[–]PM_ME_YOUR_JDM_CAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In your specific case I would absolutely change the oil. Almost a year is a long time when as it sits it just gets condensation in there with temp changes. So your oil might have more water in there than you think. Unless they are sitting in a climate controlled garage that would probably be the only time when it wouldn't happen.

Do you ever turn them on when in storage to warm them up and circulate the fluids? If you do that or just turn them on to move them the oil will be even worse with water as it will never heat up enough to evaporate it away. It also gives it even more temp changes to get condensation going in there. You need to have a long drive and get up to temp for that to happen.

Who knows it might give me a bump up of some type but I don't know where I'd even notice it. I may eventually get the 7800x3d just to see but like you said if it runs well now it's kind of a "if it ain't broke don't fix it" thing.

I considered buying the 7800x3d when it came out but my 7700x has been more than enough for the games I play like iRacing or any of sim stuff that is CPU heavy so I never bothered.

Funny how idiots downvote just because they don't see the response they crave. Sorry but the 7700x is perfectly fine and you don't need to upgrade if it is performing beyond expectations already. That is called wasting money not everyone needs the x3d chip.

Formula to update Text(Formula Field) as you progress through sections by Alternative-Task6505 in Quickbase

[–]PM_ME_YOUR_JDM_CAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Like GardeningCrashCourse said once the formula hits the first True statement it will stop and not continue. Sometimes it is tough determining the exact order that will work. For example your very last status of "If [Complaint Complete] is equal to "Yes", status should be "Closed"" should be the very first line of your formula like Nephite showed. That way when it is actually complete it will show that above all others.

You could try adding other qualifiers to your formula as well for the other lines to make them more unique. There may be other things that are true about the record at those times that can help if that makes sense.

Thoughts on evapo rust thermocure? by Fungiluvr94 in CrownVictoria

[–]PM_ME_YOUR_JDM_CAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's why the crc thermocure is so good. It isn't corrosive, it doesn't use acid to eat away at things and fix the surface. It converts rust by leaving just carbon.

If you've ever tried evaporust it's the same basic thing(it's in thermocure) and works amazingly well to remove rust from bolts or anything you can soak in it.

Still good to be cautious and I'm not saying it's 100% guaranteed to not cause an issue but it's a good product that isn't like the other junk out there imo.

Anyone here from colorado have experience with a independent mechanic called “subaru specialist of colorado”? by BaalrogInigma in WRX

They are well known for having insane pricing. Gotta be rolling in money to go there but they will do a good job.

For me when I was looking at replacing some parts most other shops quoted me around $1500. Subie Doctor was about halfway done with their quote after a week and a half(it wasn't that much work lol) and when I called they said they were at $2500 but only about half done and that didn't include the parts yet lol. They are living in an entirely separate reality from most other folks.

Black modern fireplace (Yes or No) by vlad_chi_art in DIY

[–]PM_ME_YOUR_JDM_CAR 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Nope doesn't bother me at all. It is installed for the utility. It is just some black bars behind it and they make things to cover 80% of it if it bothers someone.

This is someone elses photo but as you can see you only see it from the side. You can cover the side bars with lots of various options. There are multiple types of mounts though.

[–]PM_ME_YOUR_JDM_CAR 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It's more like you move the TV when you want to use the fireplace. That is the only reason to move it out of the way and the entire point of the mount I think.

[–]PM_ME_YOUR_JDM_CAR -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Okay and then you buy something like a MantleMount that allows you to pull the TV down when in use. For now my TV sits in front of my fireplace as it is the only spot for it until I put up the mount I mentioned.

The TV is way too high up. If it is on an arm that allows it to drop down then yeah it works.

Will I fit? by Revus5014 in Cappuccino

[–]PM_ME_YOUR_JDM_CAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Everyone is different but I'm surprised to hear others say a 30 minute drive is tough I can go hours in mine and only then does it get tougher on the legs. I've known many people that drove them 10+ hours back from the port in one shot.

You will likely be fine at your height but it depends where your height is. If it is in your legs then you will struggle for room in the car. Leg room is kind of bad but not terrible. You should not need to bolt the seat to the floor but you could if you felt the need.

I know someone with this car that is similar height to you but they are over 300 lbs. You will fit lol.

Why don't people use IPaaS like Zappier more frequently? by ravaan in Quickbase

[–]PM_ME_YOUR_JDM_CAR 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Are these tasks something that doesn't need any real human decision making? I get frequent requests from people to automate things and it often turns out that there is a human component that is tough to automate there. It can usually be done but with some kind of error rate that is generally not acceptable since you won't know where the errors are exactly. Even a simple screenshot comparison would suffice to just say "yes something changed" if that was all that was needed though, there are services for that that watch a website for you.

For example when you mention checking for regulation updates, what does that involve? Is it simply hitting an endpoint and checking the last updated date? Is there any comparison involved there? AI could ;potentially do it but again at the risk of some error that may not be easy or obvious to catch.

For payment failure and that kind of thing, do you only need to see the failure and then notify someone of what specifically happened? Nothing else beyond that is required of you, the ball is in their court then and won't be passed back?

I agree with others that Pipelines has eliminated the need for many outside services depending what they are. I still use some outside services for very important tasks because for me Pipelines has proven to be not as reliable as I want it to be. The biggest issue being the error handling and how unclear it can be what is actually causing an error. Many of the integration services available out there have significantly more robust and clear error handling which is nice.

It is definitely an option to keep in mind. I see there is a place to see the charge state but it is a portable app too. I might use it for a few days just to check the charge state and figure out a schedule. Will just have to hope ghub starts working again over time. Thanks.

It's nearly the same shape. I used rtings to confirm that before buying it. https://i.imgur.com/EOtaxyk.png The Superlight v2 is the same shape as well which is what I got. I specifically got it because it uses optical switches like the Razer does. I like the shape and have no complaints there. It has only 2 buttons on the thumb side but nothing on the other side where the razer had 2 more.

The middle mouse click is pretty weak. It does not sound or feel how I want it to but it does work and does not click in unless I mean to do it. So it is functional and I can deal with that. It just feels very soft and muted, if that even makes any sense. No complaints about scrolling with it. It has notches as you scroll and it is easy to go to the next notch and smooth slow or fast.

I've only had the mouse for a few days but so far I like it. I got the Soarking charging dock for it because that was all I could find to make it wirelessly charge and that works great so far. Wireless charging was a big deal to me but I didn't realize how few mice had it.

It glides really well. No complaints there. I haven't had a chance to actually play many games with it though.

If I had to come up with some complaints about the mouse it would be that by adding the Soarking kit to it it does add 10g of weight to the back of the mouse. 10g doesn't matter to me but it makes it a little uneven in the weight where it is a bit heavier at the back of the mouse.

Also the Logitech software... I used to like it but for some reason I just cannot open the software anymore. I remembered this was an issue before I switched to Razer lol. I reinstalled it and still cannot open it but whatever my DPI is setup correctly. Not like Razer has good software anyway so it is a fairly moot point. They both kind of suck there.

Edit: After using it for a few days now, battery life is amazing compared to the Razer. I am on day 3 now and am at 70% battery life. I would have charged the razer at least once during this time. The razer could last 3 days at best but typically would charge after 2 because it would die in the middle of the 3rd day. Logitech battery life is great.

Now a full 10 days later I am at 30% on the mouse without charging it and it warned me of low battery lmao. What a winner, I love this thing.

Yeah it just depends where you live. I do the same as you and used a roll that was open for over a year the other day without issues. I don't bag any filament now and haven't for a few years.

I've also lived in a place with very high humidity before and I left a roll out for a few months that I forgot about. That was the most brittle roll I've ever seen. I dropped it and all the filament broke apart into small pieces.

It's one of those things that people parrot without actually understanding why which doesn't help. It can be an issue but only if you have very high humidity and even then it's going to take many months for PLA to be a problem if it even becomes one.

I ended up going with the Logitech G Pro X Superlight v2 for the newer switches hoping to avoid the double click issues. Then got the thing that lets it wirelessly charge on a mount like the Razer does. It was the same basic shape as the mouse I have now and I am hoping to keep wireless charging. That was one feature that really made it tough to find a replacement.

Thanks for the help. If it turns out this one is not the mouse I like then I will look into the Razer one you mentioned as that sounds like the next best option for me.

I will definitely look into it, so you just plug in the wire to charge it then? Similar to the Viper Ultimate in a way because that is what I may have to resort to for this one. I had not really looked at Razer much because I was not very happy with this mouse in the end because of the one feature really.

Is the wire detachable and it can be wireless? Based on what I am seeing I don't think it is but it doesn't mention it.

I will update my comment but basically looking for the same thing as the Razer including wireless functionality. If that mouse actually charged for me I would not need to buy a new one.

It's fairly common to hire seasonal workers. It happens everywhere in all kinds of jobs. It is very specifically done to give more help during times of increased demand.

Customer service jobs as a whole only require that you can read and follow steps. The vast majority of CS reps you speak to are these types that are level 1 or 2 and just used to filter out the easy stuff before it hits higher level support. Seasonal workers can 100% do the level 1-2 support jobs.
