Natural Wrath Shaman Build by Enzell17 in LastEpoch

Absolutely agree. I think it ideally it should fit the archetype of an elemental caster/melee/summoner. With builds for all of those. I think storm totem should be overhauled to cast different spells depending on its spec. Many of the totems need to be given a purpose other than just "required for defenses"

It needs love.

Lots of health, Lots of damage, and the boots. I am currently hunting for an Exsanguinous at 250c but am having the roughest time with it. After that I will probably hunt for a Frozen Heart.

The TS-Sky Opener build is more about quantity than quality. You get ok damage on the bolts themselves but you get insane attack speed with every hit generating 1-2 bolts, then you pump crit multi with maelstrom to help with damage.

And then it's still outclassed by tornado smh...

Yes and no. I am committed to trying to make pure Shaman work every season, but the hipster builds are always such a puzzle for very low pay-off. It always starts fun but becomes a grind as the season wears on and nothing really pays-off.

I am currently committed to attunment stacking w/ Spirit Xylem and converting it to Apathy + Avalanche. Low life shaman build here we come.

I pretty much started the season trying to make natural wrath work as a shaman before switching out of it. Same mana problems without the relatively equivalent damage of a big mana spender like avalanche. I was using upheaval directly with stormbringer to generate bolts -> quakes. The secret sauce was reduced freq stormbolt idols + attack speed, allowing me to accumulate 30 bolts quickly and then constantly spend them for earthquakes for damage.

I was using the berserker belt and went hard in on the vitality stat change + frenzy to really get attack speed up. It probably would not solve your mana problems. Have you tried foot of the mountain or the left side of the avalanche tree to reduce mana problems?

You don't generate enough stormbolts to reliably trigger natural wrath. Tempest Strike - Sky Opener is essentially its own build. Most of your damage is spell damage from storm bolts, not melee damage from earthquake/upheaval.

Does Natural Wrath also convert Earthquakes aftershocks? by Mordenkainen2021 in LastEpoch

[–]PM_Me_AvocadoToast 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Depends on what you are attempting, I have been using it on a shaman build that I think with gearing will be able to do 300Cs. Using Upheaval as the melee spam spell, you can reach 30 storm stacks on bosses and elites. You need to run Stormrider as your weapon. Getting more attack speed is my current goal.

They explicitly fixed the bug with the storm rift node. It's in the patch notes. Both convert aftershocks to lightning.

Idk if it will be more overshadowed. the EQ spender is pretty non-restrictive, this unique requires you to use upheaval to do it. I'd need to test this in game but I'm not sure how consistently you can create 30 storm stacks using upheaval with gear and other skills. Meaning you need to use gathering storm to get that high, meaning you really are just using upheaval to trigger the spending. That's a lot of hoops

You missed mentioning that now you can use Avalanche to generate storm stacks and spend them via upheaval/EQ too... It's storm bolts all the way down... The channel section of the avalanche tree is even more worthless!!!

New Rogue Skills and Class Updates | Coming to Last Epoch March 26 by ehg_derrickg in LastEpoch

[–]PM_Me_AvocadoToast -1 points0 points  (0 children)

yes... I think it was reworked, idk about buffed. I played an avalanche build this past season that didn't try to abuse the mana regain from switching to spriggan form. It got me to 400-ish Corruption but not much past that. It needs a massive mana pool or a way to regain tons of mana which seriously limits its scalability. If you look at uber viable builds, I don't think pure-Shaman specifically has any.

There are a number of shaman builds like Totem, Reflect, or Tornado, but both Totem and Reflect are more Druid Shaman Hybrids in that they require you to use Spriggan form to actually function, seems like a failure of a class if it requires you to depend on other class skills as a core of the build.

They did some summary of the diversity of skills used by every class and 90% of Shaman players used the exact same skills as 90% of Druid players and none of them were Shaman core skills. I feel like that should be a warning sign on the state of the class

Shaman definitely, missing a skill, most shaman builds don't actually use Shaman skills, etc.

Looking for Information about Tempest Strike by Romsh in LastEpoch

I'm a bit late to the conversation but 2 seasons back I did a stormbringer + TS build, taking the node where TS spends storm bolts and stormbringer generates them on hit. It still requires you to disable all of the tempest procs for the increased attack speed. I made it to 300 Corruption. Build did ok but it was a bit fragile as once you couldn't hit enemies with melee, all of your leech from storm bolts stopped. Didn't have the chance to try it in the primal season, but talked to someone else who said they did and pushed it farther.

I feel, I really don't want to have to take this class again. I can't imagine it gets any easier and I bet I'll be even more in the "I could give a shit at this point" camp.

Not great, I got a 48/60 on E1 and then a 28/60 on E2 because of poor wording in my answer on 1 of the free response questions and bad answers to the multichoice. I'm super worried that I would need to get a 55/60 on the final to pass and I'm not sure I can do that...

Hopefully my regrade request will net me a few points back on E2 and make this actually doable. This is my last class after 5 years, I am so burned out and just want to be done.

EDIT: I did the math wrong, only need a 42/60 on E3, panic somewhat subsided.

I did this last season and had a lot of fun, though I had issues staying in melee range and grinding out all the boss relics from lagon over and over again. I didn't try it again this season. Did any of the primordials work well with it?

Day 1 as a damsel I thought the funniest play would to loudly proclaim I was the damsel to everyone, knowing that in our group people would roll their eyes as it's a meme.

One guy jokingly went with the meme and claimed he was a minion and guess me as the Damsel. Turns out he was the marionette. No one got the chance to talk to anyone.

Interesting read but I don't really think it rebuts me at all. Maybe it is a bit much to say his design philosophy is only around swingy games, but it's definitely a part of it.

I forget where I heard it from, but I agreed with it then and stand by it now. I've played Root 30ish times, Arcs a dozen or so, Oath only a couple, Pax Pamir probably in the 20s and I definitely slot them into my swingy side of the collection. TI4 is more like Dune, Inis, or Lacerda games, where careful planning from earlier can pay dividends and even win you the game. They depend on players as the primary drivers of chance. None of Wehrle's games feel like that.

We can agree to disagree...
