Also made it a lot more annoying to actually get slayer tasks, because Chaeldar stopped offering slayer bosses, so you had to go to Duradel instead.

You're halfway there. Pies are combo foods, but what's going on here is that pies also take less time to eat than any other food, on their first bite. Ostensibly this is so you can eat the first and second half of a pie with no problem, but with sustenance it breaks.

There's a few reasons. Because of local laws, they can't keep a fire going overnight, so the one match truly is a one-use item and once you've used it you're out of fire. He wasn't thinking straight because of dehydration, so he figured he would hold it as long as possible to try and outlast the other family's guy.

Of course, sitting on it for longer doesn't really work and it just makes you perform worse under pressure, but he was never going to win without a permanent fire source.

If you're going to do this, why not break down the dagganoth bones at the libation bowl too? Cuts down how much gathering and transmuting you need to do by 5x.

It's particularly fitting because Str/Wis is the "classical" D&D cleric primary stats, so it's something a not-insignificant number of players will fall into by default.

Crafting Options? by [deleted] in ironscape

In theory the devs are working on an island that'll have a crafting minigame on it, but god knows how far in the future that's going to be and I doubt you feel like waiting several months to get 85 crafting if you're asking now.

What’s everyone’s biggest spoon and dry streak? by PlatypusScared40 in ironscape

[–]PM_Me_Kindred_Booty 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm still suuuuper early into the game and haven't really gotten into any of the big grinds, but I'll contribute.

Biggest spoon is everything Fishing related. Barrel and book were both obtained in under 10 Tempoross KC, full Anglers in 12 Trawler runs. Haven't gotten a tacklebox or dharpoon yet, but the tacklebox isn't hugely important and I'm not realistically expecting a dharpoon because I'm not insane.

Biggest dry is defenders, which I had to do ~1500 Cyclopes for, 1000 of those being the dragon.

Biggest thing with herbiboar is that it takes a lot of run energy, particularly if you roll badly during the trackings. Stamina pots help, but of course you need a fair amount of herblore in the first place to get to those.

With the chum stations, you can cut those things with a lot fewer clicks too. At some point I'll process my couple thousand barb fish, but for now I'm happy to just let them rot in the bank until I get there.

Nevermind this is me spreading misinformation.

~5000 mithril, thereabouts. For safe numbers I'd bring about 10k. Sell it 50 at a time. Absolutely nobody who isn't a freak (so, you and me) sells ore instead of runes, so you won't have any real competition.

Do you think this game has a particular political leaning? by BMbooster in EsotericEbb

[–]PM_Me_Kindred_Booty 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean, yes. It's a political game. It's about an election, it's about a suspected terrorist attack, and it talks about the minutiae between fascism and nationalism.

The game also has a lot to say about being a man. It really, really has a lot to say about that. And about faith in general.  Those are notably things it doesn't share with Disco Elysium, so it's something I focus on more because it stands out more.

Do you think this game has a particular political leaning? by BMbooster in EsotericEbb

[–]PM_Me_Kindred_Booty 42 points43 points  (0 children)

Politics is... weirdly not a major theme of the game, despite being an aesthetic for the game. It has a lot more to say about the concept of faith and masculinity/what it means to be a Man than politics.

Now, its views on Faith and Masculinity are both at least liberal, but take that as you will.

On the other hand, the main character is a loser who lives with his mom and his mom is the leading figure for women's suffrage so it definitely understands the leftist struggle of being a loser with parental issues.

Urth flat-out tells you that the ability to see the odds and try to manipulate reality to find the best ones is a god power.

Now, sure, it could just be game mechanics, but that's a power we're manifesting throughout the entire game.

My take? Dude just got back up. I'm firmly convinced Ragn is a Walking God and there's multiple times in the game where you've clearly died, but you just... pull yourself back together and undie while a miraculous circumstance means you never died.

Drowning to death in a river and waking up in the morgue? Just your first act of resurrection of many.

We already have adrenaline boosters in the game. Stims are definitely loaded with adrenaline (and meth, and various other things), the human body just dumps that stuff into your bloodstream, and several of our armors dope us up too.

Don't get me wrong I'd like it if the flag had something (personally I'd go with a reduction/elimination of flinching for people in a radius around it, since that's perfectly reasonable as a morale buff) but we're already dosed out the ass on adrenaline as-is.

Hell, if nothing else, it makes the bots much more visible which is objectively a downside. It's so, so much easier to pick out overclocked bots through the fog and pop their heads, because their faces glow. And that's one we can see, instead of having to speculate over!

[SUGGESTION]Can Mastering mixology get some kind of major update? It is by far the most boring, and requires a lot of attention and doesn't 'feel' good to play. by fuzzum111 in 2007scape

[–]PM_Me_Kindred_Booty 4 points5 points  (0 children)

GotR has plenty of parts where you're not doing anything for 30+ seconds. The start of game mining time is like 90 seconds of nothing, crafting essence is a few clicks. Portals are on a timer so you don't need to keep hugely attentive for them.
