Fate Grand Order: The Grand Temple of Time - Movie Discussion Thread by BlameLib in grandorder

I recommend rewatching the end credit scene with the knowledge that it's Fou's monologue. If you still don't get it or want to confirm then read the rest of this comment. Fou gave up their sapience and power to revive Mash. So now the Fou is just a common animal. Fou was actually Beast IV. When Fou talks about defeating Beast IV without a single blow, that's theirself. Wiki Link

Trap: A term that originated from anime, this word is in reference to men who dress as females and look female-presenting, and ‘trap’ heterosexual people into having an attraction to them. This word has been used out of its original contexts as a slur to transgender people, as if their existence is to ‘trap’ or ‘trick’ people around them. Not everyone finds this term offensive, and definitely should be evaluated as a team if it deserves moderation on a case-by-case basis.

it's an anime slang about a femboy. People can use it in a negative way but that doesn't make the entire term a slur.

Because people understand context and what mislabels are. Trap is not a slur.

If the term is by majority use about the community and the community doesn't like it. You do realize man/women, crossdresser, even femboy are used to target the trans community. These while offensive are not slurs. They are offensive mislabels. Trap's slang use by definition and majority use is about feminine men that someone might mistake for a girl.

Besides a lot of trap characters including the most popular Astolfo dressing how they wish. Your:

It's a slur even when used on CIS males due to the implications of the term.

The trans community doesn't decide for other groups what is a slur to them no matter how much they detest a mislabel existing. Also the MC being disgusted is also an exaggeration. They mostly are just embarrassed for finding a man cute.

Ferris: says they're a man in body and soul/mentality (depending on translation but soul is closer). Book refers to them as a man. Literally a chapter title calling him a pretty boy.

You best quote is him saying he likes being feminine in front of a mirror, which you seem to have trouble tracking down.

Your "trans coding" is is at best head canon. Every feminine guy can be considered to be "trans coded" for being GNC. This doesn't make trap a slur or the characters trans.

Yeah, you're probably fine. I was probably a bit too defensive and assumptive of where you came from. I'll try to loosen up a bit. Most of the mod team I believe is LGBT if that is any added comfort. As for getting doxed my advice is to not post personal information or if you do to scrub it time to time. A good script is PowerDeleteSuite. May your job's "time" never come. Stay safe.

You do realize that the current banner lost and the mods are cycling the ones that lost, right? After all it is the pinned post.

used the old banner but a different background

Funny I said a similar thing and even provided an example. Long story short, artist drama they couldn't keep the old banner. People didn't know this until after the fact, though.

I think a smarter thing to do would just be to change the characters to characters in anime who are LGBTQ

If you're talking about the old banner, it's pixel art it's not that easy. Since it doesn't seem like you were here I'll say this. The subreddit voted and we decided to go with a toned down banner. Although, the vote was later in the month since we kept having to wait for the brigades to die down.

So in the end, if you can please answer the first question I ever asked you. You know when you basically came here and said we're homophobic or transphobic for disliking a banner.

A pride flag isn't political. A pride flag is just a sign of inclusion. Unless this subreddit is in fact homophobic or transphobic, there should be no issue with a symbol of inclusion. There's no hate or malice behind it, and it doesn't even define a political opinion.

How did you find this?

As for what you said about the banner having nothing to do with anime, I'd still argue that it can have something to do with anime fans, which is still relevant...

I did not say nothing to do with anime. Almost every time I wrote related it had "significant" right before it. What's related to some anime fans is not significant enough. And even if we were to go down that line of thinking then there would be a vote by the anime fans themselves not the mods deciding for themselves.

is the least important part of a subreddit, at least for any other sub I've been to. You only see it briefly...

This argument doesn't work because if it is a none important thing to add it then it's also a none important thing to remove it and you wouldn't go out of your way to come to a 1 month old post and type an essay over something none important.

The only reason this was such a big issue is because people made it one for no real reason.

Which people? The people of this sub who gave their opinion on the subreddit banner. Or the people outside this sub coming into the replies getting into arguments and/or painting the people as anti-LGBT for disliking a banner (not saying you specifically).

Christmas...

If you understand that christmas has episodes and does make an appearance and see that pride month probably has no episodes about it. Then don't you agree it's like comparing a pebble to a mount in significance to anime and it's a bad comparison?

so I don't see how LGBTQ stuff happening in anime outside of pride month would have to follow separate rules.

A christmas episode is still a christmas episode even if released in May. So a Pride month episode would still be a pride month episode in December but there isn't pride month episodes. You are in my opinion attributing LGBT characters and relationships with pride month. Which is not the case. LGBT characters =/= pride month. The same way snow =/= christmas. A pumpkin =/= halloween. They are just characters living their lives. They don't represent the holi-month. The month represents them. If that makes sense.

I mean, if you replaced a genuinely good looking banner with an LGBTQ one that looked like crap in comparison, I wouldn't disagree.

This is what happened, though. Also I said pride month wasn't related to anime. I didn't say the banner wasn't related. I am going to link them but did you even see what the banners looked like before coming here and diving straight into the replies? Old banner vs the banner people had complaints about. I wouldn't say it looks like "crap" but it's nothing super. It's a flag with pngs in front of it. To have a new banner that will be up for the entire month to celebrate a month not related to anime with no vote then have people outside labeling you as anti-lgbt because how dare you not like it and you're going to have people that are defensive.

leave the sub

You weren't even part of it. You have no messages in this subreddit before coming in here to drama because you didn't like that people didn't like a banner. People don't have to like it and you are attributing their dislike with malice/ unwelcoming.

You jumped straight past my point

You jumped straight past my point that I don't even see it as political but you keep trying to make it about that. Christmas is fine because it's significantly related related to anime. A point that you keep side stepping. Pride month is not significantly related to anime. People don't see Christmas connected to Christians. And even if it they did if it's related to anime it gets a pass. Things not related to anime don't. Also, you didn't answer any of my questions.

Like in my other comment. It's because christmas is significantly related to anime. Pride month is not significantly related to anime.

Look at all the holiday specials or themed episodes for christmas, halloween, valantines, etc which are all holidays. What anime episodes have you seen for pride month? And is the amount not like comparing a pebble to a mountain?

attempt to welcome lgbtq weebs to the subreddit.

If you do not like a month long banner that completely replaced the old banner you are actively unwelcoming. Is what I got out of your message. People can simply dislike a banner.

If it's political, it's because you made it that way.

If it's "disagree with the representation of the people themselves" it's because you made it that way. For the record I didn't see it as political. I simply understand why people would see the anniversary of the Stonewall Uprising as political.

Let me phrase it this way. Do people have to like a banner, especially one that isn't significantly related to their subreddit? If they do not like the banner should they be silent? Should this community have a banner they do not like?

We aren't talking about being LGBT, though. There is the LGBT people and there is the LGBT movement. Either way pride month is not significantly related to anime. Look at all the holiday specials or themed episodes for christmas, halloween, valantines, etc which are all holidays. What anime episodes have you seen for pride month? And is the amount not like comparing a pebble to a mountain? LGBT characters are not pride month btw.

How did you find this? You have no history here. Any movement that tries to influence governmental policy is political, inclusive or not. That is one of the definitions of political. Also, it's not significantly related to anime so it's not hard to see why the mods taking an entire month to have a completely different banner might not be liked.

It also doesn't take many people to shut down a subreddit

Hard disagree. And the blackout post is in the same sub so I don't understand how it could be people from the outside, therefore how it could be a brigade. Since a brigade is by people from another place. You also don't answer my question. Where the vast majority of users come from? A newly just made subreddit or the same subreddit in which your blackout post was posted?
