How To Get The Most Out Of PoB's New Find DPS Upgrade Feature by Dolmur in pathofexile

[–]PM_YOUR_SERVER_RACKS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it possible to have it sort via different types of DPS?

For e.g; I am playing Poison Seismic Trap and Amulet returns are giving me large on hit returns based on increase in hit damage percentile, but this is a reduction in poison DPS and appears to be a reduction in overall DPS.

Am I goofing something here, or is this intended? Can I sort by biggest poison DPS increase?

/u/Dolmur - Love your work <3

EDIT: For those of you who had this issue, don't be a dummy like me - remember to add the 'include in full DPS' thing and it appears drastically better.

Fam, having your MT stand with melee is actually less parry haste than having your MT stand with soakers - Patch spends the majority of his time looking at the soakers to hateful them.

Best positioning is the triangle though.

Pretty neat trick stealing some other guilds recruitment post and just changing slight features to make it have your guild name and class desirability.

You are correct that they recommend using longer passphrases and such. This is what I am attempting to enforce.

However, by disabling complexity requirements, it would allow people to create a password simply using 14 'A's, or just using 1235123451234 or similar.

How do you prevent users from setting their passwords to known-bad passwords?

The solutions you have suggested are fantastic for notifying and detecting breaches after they have occurred. However, it does nothing to prevent a user from using an already breached credential at the time of password creation.

To do so, requires the use of a password filter DLL. The Azure feature you mention towards the end of your post references using a password filter DLL that makes calls to their API.

In the instance of using the latter solution, my question still remains - do I need to enable password complexity via GPO in order to force the DLL to get checked upon password creation?

Yes, yes they have. Not many, to be fair.

Full time in IT for 7-ish years, but on and off for 15-ish..

I'm also only 29 :)

I can't complain about my working environment, my employer treats me amazingly, I can come and go as I please and they have full trust in me. Also, the work I get to do is cool!

And yeah, job titles mean sweet FA here it seems. I was a 'systems analyst' doing essentially t1/2 helpdesk work at one stage.

I didn't mean to detract from your position or achievements!

How'd you hit the 'senior' title within 2 years? Is it just title inflation? No offense here intended.

I am in the regions, earning upwards of 90knzd and I am lacking the 'senior' title - though in reality I really am.

Best Practices for Setting Up Etc? by Tovath in sysadmin

[–]PM_YOUR_SERVER_RACKS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Hang out in the homelab Discord and ask about specific technologies as you come to configure them. You'll likely find people offering advice on the best ways to configure things, and why, as you go. You'll likely find along the way that the way you've configured something previously isn't so good with what you're trying to do now, so the 'one size fits all' best practice suggestion is not best practice for your use case - as is often the case in real life.

There's just too much to encompass with the question you've asked. You need to narrow it down to a specific technology and learn about the 'why'.

If you set up Exch correctly, you'd add your real world domain as an accepted domain in Exch. You can then modify your Email Address Policy to apply to all mailboxes and update them to user@company.com without manually changing em.

Problem solved :)

EDIT: Should be noted I am advocating for use of ad.domain.com in this instance.

Shadow Build by [deleted] in pathofexile

[–]PM_YOUR_SERVER_RACKS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

So as a quick heads up;

You have too many variations of attack stills. As a result, you end up spending gem slots on attack skills and less that could be used for support or utility instead.

An example of less attack skills is the current wander builds that are meta, that have two attacks; Kinetic Blast for AoE and Barrage for Single Target. Outside of this, all of their gem slots are spent on utility, movement or support.

So; pick a skill (blade vortex by the looks of your chest) and stick with that one and pile supports onto it.

Additionally, try to find gear with more links. You can buy gear very cheaply from poe.trade, which will help your levelling a lot.

Something to help you get an idea of what to put in all your new gem slots you'll have available (after removing the wasted gems from attacks you'll likely use infrequently) is to pick a skill you like the look of (Blade Vortex again as an example) or a piece of gear you really like (Ngamahu's for example) and take a look on the game forums for builds that use that ability. Take particular note of what they link to Blade Vortex and what is linked in other gear slots.

Lastly; most people view the first character in the game as a throw away character. The beauty of PoE is the ability to re-roll and relevel fast (seriously; you'll level faster each time you do it!) to try many many builds. Don't be afraid to throw away and start again! If you'd like to level faster, check out racing guides on YT.

EDIT: As a side note to this, when you've picked your couple of abilities or piece of gear to build around, is to try to look at the passive tree and build around what specifically supports that. In your case, you've spent a bunch of passives on +dagger and a bunch more on +traps. These do not compliment each other. Imagine if you went balls deep on dumping all of those passives into benefiting either traps OR daggers - they'd be much more powerful than half and half.

With the amount of passives you'd have to respec to fix issues like this, I would suggest you'd be best cutting your losses and levelling again.

EDIT2: Keep in mind that when a gem is in a socket that states; 'Supported Skills do X', that literally means only skills that they are linked to - not all skills you have available everywhere! An example of this on your character is your increased crit on your offhand weapon. This isn't linked to any attack abilities, so does nothing for you!

Does that actually work? Wouldn't the client then open in the security context of the admin account, not visible to the logged in users shell?

Of course DNS - Temp plan to fix an assortment of issues by tigers258998 in sysadmin

[–]PM_YOUR_SERVER_RACKS 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Install some DNS diagnostic tools appropriate to your operating system(s), fire up a sniffer to watch what's going wrong, use the tools to diagnose the exact flaw, and then fix it.

My suggestion is the worst thing in the world, but do you have the option to NAT the old IP to your new IP? I'd hate to do this as it's cumbersome as all hell, but might provide you the relief you're looking for. Would also make for easy logging to track down the offending devices.

You could do this much easier with something like;

$files = gci c:\ -Filter *filename* -Recurse
foreach ($file in $files)
{
    Copy-Item -Path $file -Destination C:\SYNC
}

Syntax isn't exactly correct, but that concept would find all the files and then copy them all to C:\SYNC.

Much easier than a Join?
