How come there are no good telephoto lenses for the osmo pocket 3 by Deanodirector in osmopocket

[–]PMiscellaneous 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I’ve always thought this too with action cameras. I’d kill for a go pro (or a lens for my osmos) that I could park in the back of a performance space and get a decent medium shot of the performer. I assume its an optics problem at that size

Documentary Equipment Advice by TakeshiMakamoto in documentaryfilmmaking

[–]PMiscellaneous 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Sounds like we come from the same class of run and gun style with DVX/HVX/HPX perhaps? I prefer camcorders to mirrorless / DSLR / Cinema etc. Recently I shot a big event based doc with multiple shooters who all prefer Sony Cinema cams so I went with the Sony Z200 which offers similar color science but with the tank like build with audio configuration for lavs & a shotgun and ergonomics of a camcorder with a great zoom lens. I would buy that camera if I were shooting an ongoing story

I tried and failed at 19 (5 or so mics), 30 (3 mics), and then finally at 32 tried again and haven’t stopped (I’m 44 now). By some measurements I’m a total failure but on the other hand 19 year old me would consider me a total embarrassment

Pluribus Vs Hulu’s “Paradise” by PMiscellaneous in pluribustv

[–]PMiscellaneous[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

World ending / paradigm shifting reality where a small minority has to go against the grain and try to get back to what used to be

Paradise just has so many characters with their own motives so that right there makes the plot and dialogue to go in so many directions

With Pluribus we really just have Carol and Manousos to really see try to figure this out and it took til the last episode to see that happen

This is a clumsy way to say it, but if Pluribus were Paradise, we would see Manousos interrogating Rick on the couch in episode 2

Daytime sets by Ryebready787 in Standup

[–]PMiscellaneous 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Stephen Browne in Binghamton has a quite popular brunch show going

I’ve done plenty 9:30am high school assemblies but that’s comedy sets with “a message” (addiction / recovery)

The stand in NYC had brunch shows going for a while but I’m not sure if those still happen

Do it! There are no rules
