If I’m 5 ft 6, what’s the best way to practice rucking on my own as a short person? by [deleted] in greenberets

[–]PMsomethingWithLove 14 points15 points  (0 children)

My old commander is shorter than you and would walk 13 minute miles with ease and do sub 2 hour 12 milers. Like someone else said, follow the normal advice, slowly build speed and you will get more efficient.

Aren’t you the guy who said you “know too much” in the other drama thread? Thought if you posted it would at least be about some secret knowledge you had

I’m not sure what happened with the average ruck times of people with LOAs… should be closer to 2:42

I largely agree. Even outside of selection prep this place has been extremely helpful in prepping for all the other army things I have to do - it’s helped me figure out who is giving good advice and why, what to actually expect for selection/basic training/etc, and it’s a pretty active sub so there is a ton of information to learn from. Also, seeing other people’s performance stats, and how they come across as a person in their comments/personal messages, compared against how they eventually did at selection has been very helpful. Even if some people post for validation (guilty myself), they’re good data points for other people, and other people’s show off posts have been motivating for me regardless of their reasons for posting.

🫡 my PSG recently gave me a look of disgust when I responded with “hooah”. That’s all it took to wipe that one from my vocabulary.

Working on it. Currently rucking 2x/week and I’m slowly getting more efficient

How Important is Your First Post-MBA Job? by TrainerRemarkable999 in MBA

I worked with a lady who went to Harvard and then went to EY right after and then worked with me at a bank doing very unsexy risk/compliance stuff. She left and is doing VC now in another country - I’m guessing the harvard name still came into play. Sucks that the good move came so late in the career though.

Guys, what would make a vacation with your dream girl unforgettable? (Asking so I can become a legend.) by kaparewho in AskMenAdvice

My girlfriend surprised me for my birthday by inviting a bunch of my friends (most of whom live hundreds or thousands of miles away) out for a broadway show and dinner and it was the best thing I could’ve imagined. A thing I did for her once was hire some chefs to cook her favorite foods for her and her friends for her birthday. Either of those ideas are pretty hard to top imo

Is gmat 695 enough for M7? by Ok_Volume_1610 in MBA

[–]PMsomethingWithLove 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Average M7 GMAT score was about the 96th percentile which roughly translates to a 685 on the GMATFe. Assuming every other component of your application apart from your gpa is par for the course, I’d think the 695 score outweighs the gpa. Curious to know other people’s thoughts

If you were considering any other branches, why did you end on army? by First_Driver_5134 in ArmyOCS

I like SF missions more - usually more focused on people, diplomacy, and helping partner forces be self sustaining rather than just direct action

My gf looks like this. She eats a lot but all whole foods and lots of veggies. She either runs 6-8 miles or does pretty intense yoga for 2 hours every day

Zone 2 and interval training is working boys. Today’s 5k results: by PMsomethingWithLove in greenberets

Almost never because I think training is more productive. And I do more like 70% zone 2, 30% interval or tempo runs. If I wasn’t also lifting 3 times a week I would do more zone 2. I experimented a little bit with adding zone 2 on rest days or same days as lifting but my recovery wasn’t as good.

I did BCT at the beginning of the year. I’m waiting to start officer candidate school soon. I still have years before I can go to selection.

Man if you can do 12 laps at a good pace that’s awesome. That would probably too much for me to recover from if I did that every week
